Default Guide to replacing front spoiler lip

After 10,000 miles and many unplanned encounters with driveway entrances and curbings, my GT4 front spoiler lip was due for replacement. Given that my car sits about 0.5” lower due to 19” wheels, my front lip is especially vulnerable. I found a written description of the lip changing process with pics by rennlist user Lodi in the GT3 section, but couldn’t find a video guide. So I put this together to hopefully help others interested in changing out their front spoiler lips themselves. Sourced the replacement lip from Suncoast online—good price and quick shipping.

Good video.........(no loud music)..... how about doing a vid for access for inside the front screens so as to clean up the coolers and debris that enters.
Or maybe just a few sentences about this? I don't want to take apart up or down and waste time. Thanks!

My opinion that you didnt use profesional tools. You damaged anothers parts lips -
Time 2:01 and more ... Why you didnt use plastic tool ? Its detail but very important, for me surely.

I didn't need to use any pry tool on mine. I just removed the screws in the wheel well area and then just gave a strong tug on the spoiler starting from one end and going around to the other end. Installation was reverse with just a firm push to insert the tabs. This way no damage to the bumper cover. 😊

Not sure I’m brave enough to tackle that yet, but if I do I’ll post it.

I understand your concern. A plastic interior trim removal tool would probably have been ideal, but I don’t have one. The metal pry tool I used is the correct shape—flat/thin/low-profile tip that’s fairy wide—so it gets in between the lip and spoiler without damaging the spoiler.

Brave. Good to know. I was concerned I’d rip something.

For those with PPF be very careful using any kind of pry tool. Especially with PPF tucked behind the lip.

No PPF on your car Paradocs?

Good point—thanks. When I took delivery of the car two years ago, I balked at the idea of spending $$$ on PPF. In retrospect, it would have probably been a good idea to have had it installed. My car’s still in great shape without it, but it would have eliminated some worry.

I hit a bird and my front right screen got bent inward. I attempted to pull it back into the correct position and it completely popped out. I talked to my local Porsche tech on it and he said they have to pull the front bumper to replace it. I haven't had it done yet though.
