Harbor Freight sells plastic (not metal) body tools that will release the snap tabs without damage. They are everywhere except the ends.
Good catch

I found a written description of the lip changing process with pics by rennlist user Lodi in the GT3 section, but couldn’t find a video guide. So I put this together to hopefully help others interested in changing out their front spoiler lips themselves. Sourced the replacement lip from Suncoast online—good price and quick shipping.

Thanks for the video. I'll be doing this soon as I replace my Spyder spoiler with a GT4 setup. However, I did cringe when you pried against the paint of the bumper. I would recommend sliding a thin-bladed putty knife in the crevice first and then prying against it instead of the bumper. I'd hate to see the paint crack.

My tech friend at the dealer said don't even bother prying. Just take out the two screws and pull.

I wonder if a plastic/rubberized cake icing spatula would work?

Are these what you are talking about for $7.99 ?
Made of nylon.

https://www.harborfreight.com/nylon-...-pc-63594.html

FYI: They look like these on Amazon for $7.50

https://www.amazon.com/Cal-Hawk-Tools-CAPNPB4-Nylon/dp/B00AZOMOKA/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=nylon+pry+bar+installer+kit+4+pc&qid=1549645603&sr=8-5 https://www.amazon.com/Cal-Hawk-Tools-CAPNPB4-Nylon/dp/B00AZOMOKA/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=nylon+pry+bar+installer+kit+4+pc&qid=1549645603&sr=8-5

I need to replace my lip after hitting a curb in a parking lot.
Didnt hit a parking "block", but tapped the curbing of a sidewalk.
Looks like my PPF got damaged on the edge of the lower center spoiler too.

Ugh.

I did the same but got lucky enough to only scratch the front plastic lip. I am waiting for more damage to replace the lip (I already have the part waiting in my garage).

Yeah, I dont mind replacing the black plastic lip.
It's a DYI and you can source the part from Suncoast in Florida for $290 + $40 shipping.
But the PPF getting damaged is a definite bummer.

Had Dave at Premier Film in Fremont "stretch" the Clear Guard Nano piece that was damaged off of the front air dam / spoiler lip for $40.
Will be installing the new black plastic lip today.

Thanks again for the video Paradocs!
This is clearly an easy DIY.

Replaced mine yesterday... very easy to do, requires some force to pop out, but once the corners are free the rest is buttah.

My problem is that I need the hardware, the screw/grommet. It's missing on one side. See: https://rennlist.com/forums/987-981-...er-bumper.html

Anyone know a source for those parts or the part numbers to possibly order from Porsche?

While it looks ugly, has anyone tried removing the lip on a permanent basis to improve ground clearance? If so, how much does the clearance increase without the lip?

FYI, I am in the process of purchasing a GT4 and I suspect that the lip will drag as I drive up the curb leading to my driveway. I am skeptical that even entering the driveway at an angle will avoid scraping the lip.

I've thought about backing the car into the driveway. But I would want to turn the car 180 degrees around before driving forwards into the garage. Fortunately, I live in a duplex so the drive way (including my next door neighbor's) is 4 cars wide.

Thanks.
