If you get 2 years warranty on the motor (as Spyerx says), that is plenty long to know that you got a good one (check the oil filter again to be sure). Most of these motors are very reliable.

So the official response from PAG is a new engine. Probably a first for a Gt4.
I also failed to mention that the rear shocks on the car were replaced at 2000 miles? Was my car built by an angry worked or something.
Anyone have any contacts at PCNA that I can contact and hopefully have them extend my warranty because all these problems should be in a 2500mi vehicle that hasn't been tracked. I think an extended warranty would give me some peace of mind.

Three Wheelin'
Sucks but its great that the techs noticed the metal in the filter early and that Porsche is getting you a new engine.

So far you only described 2 issues. What other issues did you have that qualifies your request for a warranty extension?

I'm not an expert but to me, a car with low miles, properly maintained shouldn't have an engine replacement which is to me a complex job. I believe it would be best for them to offer a warranty to restore some confidence. It doesn't cost them until something fails which porsche shouldn't worry about if they're confident in their techs and product. Sounds like a win win to me if nothing fails within the warranty period.

Isn't there also a loss in resale due to vin match as well? They were giving concessions to people who needed transmission replacements and such. Dont see why he couldn't for a motor replacement which will throw bigger red flags on resale.
