I wouldn't call +/- 1 - 2 sec delta conclusive data

I consider Sport Chrono conclusive enough. They were triggered in the same spots each lap. I realize some will cry foul-play as its not recorded using an AiM, hence the "whatever makes you sleep better at night" buffer of 1-2 seconds. Can't please everyone and not looking for a flame war, more interested in staying on a technical topic

Oh, my bad, I thought this was the 981 forum. Maybe while you're here you can help some fellow rennlisters with a GT3, GT4, or GT4RS allocation? At MSRP? Cuz that would be some useful beta

It sounds like the first special ops as dir of special ops is "how to move these 718s off the lot" . Just kidding, gl with the new job.

But IMO, faster/slower than the old GT4, with pending 6 cyl NA 718 GT4, Porsche themselves cut any credibility the 718 4 cyl strategy had.

Thanks! Will update the thread as things progress with the car. Not much activity on the 718 forum, and as a previous GT4 owner I find this group a fairly technically oriented group of enthusiasts to share info with.

718 turned me back to a 911 buyer....maybe that was Porsche’s plan?

I recently leased myself a 991.2 Carrera as opposed to a Cayman/Boxster to see what the hoopla is all about and I'm digging it! Drive is very different to that of a mid-engine car. Same story with that car, the new 3.0L twin turbo offers a decent bit of torque down low compared to the outgoing car. Wouldn't be disappointed if the turbo engine out of Carrera S found its way into the GT4 or Spyder.

This is the 981 forum. How would he be able to help w/ what you want? GT3, GT4, and GT4RS can be allocated at your local dealer at MSRP.

I am aware this is the 981 forum. You must have missed the sarcasm. I don't want anything, but was suggesting he could help fellow rennlisters get an allocation as opposed to trying to upsell a 718 on the 981 forum. Sure, cars can be allocated at a local dealer; that shouldn't be news to anyone on this forum. Op was originally encouraging folks to come see him for a 718 so why wouldn't it be fitting that he also help with some real bonafide GT cars?

Default 987 faster than GT4 too.

I often bang on about my 987.2S. He's a shocker, its faster than my GT4 at the track.
But why?
Simple, its setup better (mods), and most importantly has a set of trick tyres (A050 soft), liken that to F1's new Hypersoft.

So just recently I upgraded the GT4 tyres to Trofeo R, now the GT4 is faster, but only just.

Never under estimate the rubber, it makes the biggest difference, to a limit.

That's always the plan... with each generation Porsche progressively makes their regular cars "softer" for more mass appeal and at the same time push enthusiasts to spend more on GT2/3/4.

You are new here. CJ is extremely transparent w/ his allocation process. RLers don't get priority.
