FWIW, my setup which has worked well, apart from the well discussed klag/occasional small stone interference between the front caliper and the inside of the wheel barrel:
OZ Racing Leggera HLT w/Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R
F: 245/40x19 (27#) 8.5Jx19 ET53 (20.75#)
R: 285/35x19 (30#) 10Jx19 ET40 (22.5#)

Also same ^^
The top of the front calipers gets beat up, bottom less. Rear is fine. Also, inside of the front wheels have rubber plastered all around where the caliper is. Cleaning job once per season, and move on. Like the RE-71R's as well.

Thanks for confirming the impression I was getting. Some say a little brake duct trimming may be required as well, but even so, all of this beats the heck out of paying 6-7 k$ for wheels for DE driving. I have driven the OE Dunlops and PSC 2's (lucky to get 2DE's out of the fronts), and the RE-71r's are far grippier and better at staying grippy, imo. Many thanks for weighing in.

Oh yes - the brake air scoops should be trimmed back by about 3/8in, otherwise they will knock off the inner balancing weights under compression. Took me a while to find out why these weights were constantly going missing.
Good luck!

Also, 19 inch front wheels with 265/35-19 tires will fit and add front grip. They should work with the stock 20 inch rear wheels to retain rear grip. (The stock front RE-71R is hard to find, not the rear)

Bill, I am checking from an earlier post. Do I understand correctly that you ran the Re-71rs in 265/35/19 on the CCW wheels before going to the R7's. Many thanks, Jim
Oops! My bad. I found the earlier post and re-read. Saw it was just R7's in 265. Sorry.

Just for FYI, I wound up, perhaps due to a miscommunication, with the Ultraleggeras, which work great, with no klag or fitment problem with 245F, 285R.

What size RE71R's are recommended for autocross with stock 20" wheels? I was thinking 255/40 front and 285/35 rear, I'm not concerned about width fitment, but not sure if there could be any height rubbing problems because they are 15-17MM taller than stock? I was hoping to dial out a little bit of understeer with the wider fronts. Other than ride height adjustments, any other concerns I should have? Also, if I stay with the stock 295/30 on the rear and go with 255/40 on the front the ratio is pretty different from stock. Any nanny problems with this?
