50mm Lug nuts
Hi All,
I had a question about the longer 50mm vs 45mm lug nuts. Here is the part number Brand: Genuine Porsche
Part #: WHT-004-676-A-OEM
There is another part that has a red collar thats double the price. I assume these are the GT3 ones? Is there any reason
I shouldnt use the black 50mm from porsche if I run the car at a DE?

no prob to use slightly longer bolts w/o spacers.....i used them....they fit perfectly

I use 2 sets of this for the rear wheels of my GT4 when I mount my HRE's w/ a 10mm spacer. Torque properly. No interference. No problems.

So this should be ok in the rear. What happened specifically with your car for the rears to hit parking brake?

I bought my previous Porsche (987 Cayman S 3.8l X51 turbo) with 5mm spacers and the matching 5mm longer Porsche oem "red collar" bolts. My winter wheels had a different offset so I mounted them without the spacers, but used the red collars.
Apparently the 5mm extra length was too much at the rear (fronts have no issue) since the bolts protruded into the hub and interfered with the parking brake.
When I tried to back out of my garage, there was obvious resistance preventing the rear wheels from rotating. Fortunately I didn't force it and diagnosed the problem before damaging anything. I swapped in an old set of the standard bolts (glad I keep stuff like that) and all was normal again. Lesson learned.

Thank you for the heads up! I installed the bolts this morning on one side. When removing 1 of the bolts I could see there was something at the back. I measured from that to the shoulder and measured that
against the new bolt and had plenty of room. I then 'slowly' backed out and all was ok , no noise no resistance. I then installed the other side and all was ok.
