If you sold your GT4 to buy a competing car, what would it be?

Sorry about describing my GT3 dilemma and not putting forth a competitive car I would consider. Given your original question, I would not trade my GT4 in on anything else out there just as needmoregarage indicated in his reply above. Ford and Mustang hypo pony cars certainly have the goods for track purposes but not the all around goodness of the GT4

good thread
gt350r and corvette grand sport as domestics go. great motor and noise, but the fit and finish has me wanting.
TTRS was tasty, and I still have a soft spot in my heart for the upcoming M3 CS. (though that is getting alittle "land-bargy")
on the JDM side, the value/power proposition of the GT-R is compelling.
however, all still falls short of the complete package that the GT4 offers at ~100k.
me? i love mine, but i'd be lying if i wouldn't drop it at a chance for a 991.2 GT3 (in manual)

I kept my civic Type R and traded my 2018 TTRS for my Sport Turismo. TTRS is very good but the usability is poor due to the size and useless back seats. The only thing the civic has over the TT is the cornering speed. I am still impress how good it is being FWD and able to turn so faster and so tight.

The new 911T with Manual and Sport Buckets or also the new GT2 RS.

A 911T with lwbs and pccb (I think the steel rotors are vastly undersized) and rear wheel steer, is well over 120k.
At that point, I would just spend another 10-15k and get me an used 991.1 GT3.

I sold my GT4 for a 991.2 GT3 allocation.
I have the GT350 now. Good chassis, epic engine and trans, 4 seats, loads of fun to drive -- FOR THE PRICE.
GT350 is no GT4 replacement for me. Driving the GT4 feels an event in comparison.

I heard a 911 Turbo S last weekend on a road going under a freeway overpass and it sounded horrible!
Like a previous poster mentioned, driving the GT4 is like an "event".
Very engaging.
As for the new Audi TT-RS, I've read really good things about it.
The nearly 3600 lb. RS3, not so much.

That's easy, as I just did it—moving from GT4 to 991.2 Carrera 7MT w/PCCB. Miss the "bad boy" factor of the GT4 as well as its handling, shifter, noises, and sense of (sporting) occasion...but that's about it. Prefer both the engine (I'm not anti-turbo, so long as it's good turbo, and to me the twin-turbo 3.0 is a better engine overall than the NA 3.8) and the gearing (sooooo much better) in the 991.2 Carrera. The chassis, while not as razor sharp, is faaaaar from soft, and the handling is challenging and rewarding in the way a 911 is supposed to be. After the GT4, it's too quiet—but it isn't silent. As for the looks...well, there are things I like better (greenhouse, rear end) but thing I like less (front end not as aggressive or as cool, and miss the sports purposes vibe of the GT4).
Other cars considered: 997.2 GTS 6MT, 911-50, and 997 Turbo (either gen). No GT3s because no back seats. Carrera T would obviously come into consideration were I doing it now—but it isn't hugely different to drive to a Carrera. If moving from GT4 to something outside of Porsche, GT350 and Evora would be on my short list for very different reasons.

Depends on what you want.
There are a few sporty sedans mentioned in this thread. None compete with a GT4.
There are a few sporty coupes mentioned in this thread. None compare with a GT4.
There are even a couple actual sports cars mentioned. Those are a better comparison, but still not the same.
The reason answers are all over the place is - in it's price range, there really isn't a good GT4 competitor. You need to spend almost 50% more to get close.
