True its just a Cayman, a balanced mid engine sports car. But at the end of the day the 911 in your avatar is just a over engineered VW bug lol.

Relax. It wasn't a slam on the GT4.

Just relaying market realities and general public perceptions.

And to @06C2s, as Porsche owners we all drive tarted up VW bugs.

Poor Rhodium has taken somewhat of a beating in this thread.

Below are some comparison photos I've posted elsewhere of my GT-S Spyder and a buddy's RS Spyder. Both nice colors IMO.

For whatever reason, in the Spyder world Rhodium isn't thought of as an "undesirable" color like it seemingly is in the GT4 world (if this thread is any indication).

OP asked why is former GT4 isn’t selling. Lots of guesses given including color. Fact is that RS had a very low take rate for the GT4 (and the 991.2 GT3, not sure about the Spyder) which would then be expected to impact the resale/desireability in the secondary market. Nothing wrong with the color and no need for folks to get defensive...

GT4 gets more attention due to the styling than any non GT 911.

Very possible.

ie.) The stock market is hitting the highest bullish sentiment levels seen since '87.

Actually, I think a TT/TTS gets more attention and maybe even a Targa.

For my it's the color/wheel color and lack of PCCBs.

The 996/997 silver turbo's killed that color.

Here in Germany the fully equipped GT4's are still up (above PP). Anything less then Purchase price and it has high mileage or is missing something...

There are 76 GT4's on Cars.com right now, and pricing is all over the place. A lot of guys own them at the "old" money and think they can still get out relatively unscathed, but that's not happening. They were due, overdue, for a price adjustment, and I think we're seeing it happen right now. Loaded, PTS, and super-low mile cars will still bring all the money, but if you have a 5k car with average equipment and a common color I would expect to find a buyer at $10k back of MSRP today. I think they're going to hold pretty strong from that point, as there's not much in that price point that's special and has the whole package that the GT4 has. There are a lot of potential buyers sitting on the sidelines and watching the market, probably spooked by the wide range of pricing for seemingly similar cars. As soon as things settle down and sellers accept the true market I think we'll see a lot of these cars find new homes.
