All he did say was that the 718 GT4 was set - but the other 2 weren't yet due to politics in head office (The Cayman 6 with the issues of the 4cyl sales, and the RS with how it fits in the line up against the GT3. Currently there were still 3 engine options open for the RS. He did say that neither of these were set in stone to ever make production).

He seemed far more excited about the Manthey Racing kits than those other 2 cars. I know locally they intend to have demonstration days at local tracks showing the potential of the upgrades. He was claiming improvements of "upwards of 3s/lap" - in reference to Phillip Island here for the GT4.

The major thing I take out of conversions like this however is that this whole saga seems to have back flips on a regular basis - so any new information is only right until next week. lol
I think the big question on many people's minds like me is not even the engine for the upcoming GT4/Spyder. 3.8 or 4.0, it should be a 420hp plus NA six. The biggest question, at least for me, is whether we are going to get PDK as an option out of the gate. Yesterday's "report from Germany" seems to indicate that we will. I just have heard so many other things. I see no unknown item, at this point, that is going to make more of a difference in this car than whether it will get a PDK transmission or not.

Man I am really hoping they are not waiting till July to show the car. Hoping for a worst case at New York but still pulling for Geneva.

So far no news or teasers like on the 981, either they think the extra promo is not needed or they are going with a summer launch.
I do find using Goodwood for a product launch a bit odd. I know it's a GT product and fits with Goodwood but would think PAG would want to maximize the launch reach with something a bit more "global"?????

Whatever they will do, I think the chance of it being at Geneva is close to zero. I am flying in as a journalist and their big reveal there will not be a sports car.

Good wood is July.
Like the GT2RS it may just mean that it’s a while out still.

Cj mentioned that there is an embargo till Geneva. We might get an online reveal around that time with the actual display at a later point.

Google tells me in 2015 the GT4 was revealed online Feb 4th and showed in Geneva in March. Strategy could be different this time of course.

That sucks if it'll be at Goodwood. Means that the first US cars won't be here until 1Q 2020.

That may be correct. European shipments of GT and other models have been stalled by the GPF issues (+ slow economies) whilst shipments to USA and China have been strong. There may be some re-balancing of shipment priorities when Porsche finally get their approach to normally aspirated GPF to work and secure sufficient time on the VAG Group test/certification cells.
