Full disclosure I didn't get them or want them for my GT4 that spends much more time on the road vs. AX or DE days.
LWB’s were not limited, rather early in the production run, they were unavailable due to supply issues.

I’ve had similar feelings myself. The Sport Seats Plus hug me on the sides more tightly, while the buckets feel looser and allow more sideways motion before stopping you. The bucket seats also creak when you lean on them. I prefer the more tight “hug” of the sport seats plus, and also that they don’t creak, and have easier ingress/egress.

the best seat is the one that fits YOU best. period. I am 5'11, 230lbs, with a 34" waist. I made a few paychecks playing football and still powerlift. I wear a 54R suit, and have to buy 40" waist pants, tailored down, to fit my thighs. please come show me how I fit comfortably in buckets.

Buy what works for you/allows for YOUR most enjoyable ride.

Just caught up with this

2 x Mclaren and 1 Aston on the podium.

The leading GT4s came in at 7th place (Trent Hindman) and 8th place (Jason Hart).

I'd like the answer to this, as well. I saw it suggested somewhere that the basic (2-way manual, no motors) Sport Seats Plus may be very close to the LWBS in weight, but have never seen the exact weight numbers of all available seat options in one spot.

Many have reported (and I have felt the same) that the SSP "sofas" (at least the basic, no motors ones) actually seat lower than the LWBS. That's also the feeling I got with the basic manual seats vs the GT3 Euro buckets in the 987.1 Boxster and the 996.2 GT3. The buckets sat higher.

Thx, that was helpful.

Do the 4-way seats have any motors? Did they stop offering the 2-way (just manual up/down & tilt) SSPs after the 987? Maybe it's them that are close to the LWBS in weight in the 987 Spyder and Cayman R? I have them in my 987.1 Boxster S that I just picked up and they look and feel great with plenty of bolster support. They seat very low (due to no motors) and look thin and not bulky at all.

The regular sport seats do have electric back angle adjustment...the rest is manual.

Thx. Just to clarify, you're talking 981 & 718, correct? If I remember correctly, 987 (and probably 997) came with 2-way manual Sport Seats as standard (and Sport Seats Plus as a +/- $600 option, also 2-way manual) with spring-loaded back angle adjustment (vs. motor)? My "new" 987.1 is in storage so have no way of checking/confirming at the moment.
