With the forthcoming 718 GT4 and whether the engine is the same in the race car as in the road car, you are confusing “likely to be the same” with “has to be the same”. There is nothing in the SRO GT4 regs that says the homologated race car has to have the same engine as the production road car on which it is based.
You are essentially limited to the block. The bases of the build. What ever you can stuff into it, take off it or bolt-on to make it work reliably is the name of the game. BoP will ultimately determine how it is built HP wise.
You will see some might drop forced induction from the street motor in favor of increasing capasity and compression for the race motor. It is a game of give and take, cost and reliabilty.

There is no confusion with the 718 GT4 street motor and race motor being the same. They will be the same except the for the additional capacity of an extra litre of oil as we saw with the 981GT4.

SRO GT4 is production cars only. And they have to maintain the engine from production car. In some cases a waiver can be issued but is rare.

Manufactures never overlooked the rules by mistake..... They know full well the rules which is why you see all the GT4 race cars share motor (or block) with the street cars

The new clubsport cost from 207'EUR, the existing one from 110'EUR
They must have a more exclusive engine in or why double the price?

Are you sure you are talking about the race spec Clubsport from Porsche Motorsports and not a Road GT4 with the club sport package?
I doubt that a (then) new 981 Clubsport (race car) was 110 Euros when used ones go for $150K USD

I believe they were $165k USD new, but even then, 207k euros is quite the jump.

Yes, the clubsport.
But almost none cost 110' EUR because you need equipment to be able to compete with it so it was more like 170' EUR new.

I went to the presskit.de link and it discusses the 981 gt4? I don't think that's the 718 since the specs are identical

The spec is the old car but the price must be the new car. You order it without knowing the spec get, I think.

That has to be about the 981 GT4.

The upcoming season is the 2019 season and the Continental Tire Series is now called Michelin Pilot Challenge.

The new 718 GT4 Clubsport will come in three models for 2019:
1.Private track day car
2.Trophy/single make series car
3.SRO spec car

The SRO being the most expensive of the 3.

The prices are very much in line with the 981 GT4 Clubsport when they were introduced in both trophy spec and MR "SRO" spec back in 2016-2017.

From what i can see there will be 3 options on the menu. Anybody will be able to order a new "basic" 718GT4 Clubsport for private track days (not road legal) but you will need to be in a series to get the other two versions.

The "basic" 718GT4 clubsport will give you the full cage and race bucket seat. It might very well come with two seats as an option (for ride alongs/coaching). I do not know if a spares package is included.
It might not come with air jacks. It will be the lowest price clubsport. Perfect for those at private tracks, driving schools or for those who trailer their own car for D.E etc...

The 718GT4 "Trophy package" will be for one make series. It will have air jacks, single seat, fire supression and spares package. Not sure on the fuel tank or brake package however.

The 718GT4 "SRO" will come with carbon doors, carbon hood and carbon fenders/bumpers. Lightweight headlights and carbon fuel cell with dual master brake system. Other goodies will also be included.

Air jacks would be fun! Thanks for the info.

Curious what the price is for the Basic package?

Thank God this is upon us. I've been eating enough pop corn to fill the house from the movie Real Genius!
