Spoke to someone today (who shall remain anonymous) who said it will be offered in PDK. No other detail was offered.
This source has been correct in the past when sharing info with me.

I would consider it if PDK is an option. Otherwise I’ll keep what I’ve got.

Looks like JC was accurate with his info on the 992 still coming to LA(nicely done). Unfortunately that likely means the GT4 is going to have to wait until Geneva. Hopefully the CS still comes to LA so everyone can stop the speculation on the engine specs.

+1 on this....it will be good as I think a few people don't realize the CS MUST have the same engine as the street car.
Once the CS is shown we should close this thread!

That's not a Spyder alright but if you look at the diffuser it's not the same as the one we have seen on the GT4 test mules...this one is all close up.
This could be a sign that they plan to change the rear bumpers to accommodate the new exhaust configuration across the whole 718 lineup.

Are you sure about this? Where precisely in the GT4 regs does it say this?

Like my good friend and fellow RL member would say: "Search function is your friend...."
Would be more than happy to dig up the rules but no time right now....it has also been posted on this thread.
Anyway, pretty sure and some of the CS members here will chime in....they do make small adjustments during the course of the season (restrictors, exhaust manifolds, etc) to adjust but basically the engine must be the same as the engine used on the street car.

I did do a bit of searching, and found this stated in the article at the link below, "The car is not required to use the engine it is offered with (although it usually is), but it is required to be a production engine used in a road car."

That was stated in the context of GTE class racing, so is it different for GT4, as the statement above would appear to leave room for the new GT4 CS to have an engine different to the road-going version of the new GT4, albeit still a production engine used in a (different) road car?

Precisely! Likely a proto for 982.2. Not sure if they would offer a Cayman T twin with open top; may not make sense. So, a restyling for next mid-life model refresh.

The next Cayman will be new, as 718/982 was the refresh;
981.1 (new) > 781/982 (981 refresh) > 98? (new)

It would be interesting if 982 didn't have a mid-cycle refresh; and, instead move up in Type Code to 98x. There have been speculations about the viability of Cayman/Boxster. With the onslaught of electrification coming up in the pipeline across the model range, incrementing the Type Code to 982.2 will give them time to revamp the platform completely. It needs to accommodate electric powertrain. ICE sunset is imminent in growing # of markets; the timeline is set. So, the platform is due for complete overhaul just like 992. But, we haven't seen any movements yet.

This is public information - race teams don't get their race cars until late December because of an embargo related to the fact that the road car is not released and therefore they don't want race cars floating around before the world sees the car on which it's based. That's why we had to surrender our phones at the introduction at Daytona.

Normally i sit on the bench and fire off popcorn emojis but i feel as if i should speak up and say something. Next up: "my sales guy said it's going to have a V8 and be AWD."
