The exhaust plumbing and muffler design is different in the rear engine 911 to the mid engine GT4. So it will not sound the same.
You can bank on the 718 GT4 have a small throttle body and most likely a basic intake. So it will be choked in the high RPM.

Please tell, and educate me on this EVO package ? Engine wise, how they are getting to 420?
Thanks in advance

The 2018 EVO package is basically a $20k upgrade to an existing GT4CS MR.
It was introduced by Porsche Motorsports to keep the GT4 competitive for one more season of 2018...
It gives you carbon front and rear bumpers, cabon fenders, light weight LED headlights and lightweight battery.
Super light, but super expensive to replace.

It is on all the PWC and IMSA Porsche GT4 clubsports.

It helped the car however BoP decided last minute to stick some more weights in the car which basically cancels out the savings.... $20k down the toilet...

Although RS1 has had success this seaon as had some other Porsche GT4s with pro drivers.

The 718 GT4 Clubsport is anybodys guess on how they offer it for 2019 in terms of body work....( carbon or stock street panels)

The engine will be normally aspirated again... but not certain on what they will use.
Chances are it will be the same engine as before but bumped up to 4.0L with a crank. Might be lucky to get some heads and cams...
Intake and throttle body would be nice.... but jury is still out on that.

being a 981.2, expect a minimal leap.... chassis will be the same and engine will go from 375hp to most likely 420hp.

It will be a welcome addition to GT4 racing next season, however i hope they offer only one car this time around as the 70L and 100L tank versions really faaked things up for those looking to get 3 seasons of racing out of the platform.

Thanks for that ...
But engine wise how are the getting the 420 ? Is it just mapping or did they do TB and Intake ?
Thanks

Maybe it's been posted but this is a different video from the Monza test, great quality and a lot of straight back to back comparisons between a couple of cars. Obviously the big daddy straight piped 911 isn't representative but overall it's striking just how bad the GT4 sounds (though it is clearly H6).

Tom is surmising what that number may be for the next CS, not what the EVO pkg is.

Normally, that would make perfect sense. And I know you're talking race cars, not street cars. But I continue to be blown away by the difference between 991.1 3RS and 991.2 3RS -- 24 seconds on the 'Ring, with a 20hp bump to the same engine. Don't know how much of that is the new SC2R tires, which wouldn't have any effect on the race car, how much is aero, and how much is suspension. But it's a remarkable improvement, especially for just a ".2" revision of a Porsche GT car.

I would guesstimate about half of the gap is down to the tires. Car looks glued to the road in medium speed corners.

Overall downforce is not increased over 991.1 RS - but the car does have a little less drag at the same level.

tires ~ 16s

all other changes ~ 8s

as a proportion - however, it should be noted there have been changes to the surface and the removal of slowed zones.

At this pace its largely about tires and drivers

Yeah I would say the road surface and the tires are the biggest changes. More efficient aero also helps. Didn't Porsche claim the car has less drag than before but more downforce?

Reread his post. The evo package doesn't have 420 hp. What he said is that in the future (2019) given the presumed bump to 420, it will then be competitive.

Was at PWC race at VIR this past weekend. It is embarrassing how a big fat Bentley can get around the track faster than a GT4 (ditto for mustangs). The GT4s looked totally out-muscled.
