I guess I can see that but I am still left wanting more. It’s a nice car, but has the same fundamental flaws as the outgoing car it seems.

The 718 Clubsport will maintain the same motor for at least 3 years. Just as the 981 Clubsport.

That's what I care about...if it'll be available in PDK. If not, then no interest here.

For over a year, we heard it would have the GT3 engine. Can't believe it does not. With weight gain and such it feels like an enhanced 718 GTS rather than GT car. Same here, no PDK no interest.

Greed is good, if you already own one! I picked up my 981 in late January and I'm glad I didn't wait, particularly given that the new version won't hit dealer lots until next spring.

Nice .2 upgrades. Big price increase. Pretty consistent with the Porsche philosophy.

Early congrats to those who will be buying new cars. Can’t wait to see owner pics!

I can't believe anyone actually thought it was going to come with the GT3 engine. Like Porsche is going to effectively just give a GT3 out for 30% less $$$ for fun.

It is slightly less than I expected from a performance increase from the old one - but it is obviously much closer to what I expected than it seems many dreamers did just because they read something a journalist wrote....

Anyways - I'm more than happy now to keep my old one. It's still a mega car and there certainly doesn't seem to be any reason to change up that I can see. I also haven't seen any mention of a Club Sport pack that the rest of the world got in the 981. No scaffolding / no deal for me. Not to forget the infamous carbon buckets that were a part of it! (Good times!)

I wonder if this will be another down the road option?

The price increase in Australia is ridiculous. $41,000 more for the Spyder, $30,000 more for the GT4.

On the plus side - the price difference means you could buy a 4.0L kit for your 981 and have a much quicker car for less if you really needed a 4.0L.

Picking up my GT2rs today, another limited car...but you'll say they aren't lol
Whatever man...whatever floats your boat.
Good for you you are close to dealers which usually know less than the average RL member.
+2000 unites is not limited by Porsche standards
Are you related to Lord Lucan??????

On top of that in Melbourne we have the new higher stamp duty increases from the 1st of July thanks to our lovely premier Daniel Andrews who said prior to election he will not bring in any new taxes and guess what he's introduced 17 new taxes.

Currently at 4.2% and on 1st July 9% that will make a base GT4 at AUD$238,500 and that's before any options OUCH!!

John...kind of looks like the X51 intake.....I wonder how much HP can be extracted with a set of headers and a new B pipe to eliminate the filters...of course you will need a COBB AP to go with it.

The idea that they developed and homologated a bespoke engine yet couldn’t afford to beef up the transmission to take advantage of it is amusing to me.

As is the GT4 maintains just enough performance to justify its 100k price point but not enough the threaten a more expensive manual Carrera in the all-important sprint to 60. Meanwhile gearing is limited by CAFE, yet a PDK which would improve those numbers (and the 0-60) can’t be offered.

I find the various reasons why the GT4 isn’t faster easier to understand from the opposite perspective: Porsche had a hole on the sporty side of the 100k price point and needed a car to fill it. Price dictates top speed, a low 4 second to 60, even fun factor to a large extent- can’t have a lighter, more nimble, smaller engined, shorter geared car outshining a GT3 for fun factor.

I suspect the new Spyder in particular will make a great platform for modifications in the future. Shorter gearing, a real exhaust and the torque limit removed should unleash the potential Porsche engineers are not allowed to.

Heated MF steering wheel AND Burmeister available on spyder. Where is the color list?

Thinking maybe a spyder in green with Burmeister and a heated MF wheel (swap to wood when I get it), rubber dash and delete all the alcantara parts by trading with someone who wants them instead of rubber. Swap in the leather door/dash/console ....
