tcsracing1, are you saying, or able to say in some form:

1, that there will be no 718 GT4 manual transmission cars? we thought the manuals would come first, followed by the PDKs.

And, 2. that the 718 GT4 street car engine is a 3.8 liter with the same construction, capacity, and general specifications?

Race on sunday, sell on monday concept.

That makes sense to me. I highly expect the street 718 GT4 to get exactly the same engine that we just saw in the race car.

Up in the air and particularly interesting to watch, will be what engine goes in an end of model run, limited edition, GT4RS?
That is where I could see a detuned 4.0L 991.2 GT3 engine. They aren't giving that engine up for mass 718 GT4/GT4CS production, but I could see that engine go in a special "end of the run" 718 GT4RS edition, like the 997 RS 4.0!

Interesting. Both Chris and CJ have posted other thoughts on this. Or are they talking about a possible RS without actually knowing it?

my cleaning lady spy in flacht says that they rather PDK this time around. That way customers can beat on them trouble free like we do in the Club sports. So that leaves me wondering What happens to the manual??
I assume it would still have to be an option for those sunday drivers who like to row gears after driving a pickup to work all week.

Porsche want the same engine in the street
car as the race car. Hence they call the street car a “GT4”. They want the success of the race car to market the street car.
If they were to give the street car a totally different engine, then they wouldnt bother calling it a “GT4”. Porsche also didnt sandbag the race car with a 3.8L only to give the street car a stroked 4.0L

All very interesting!

Curious on production numbers, will this also be a single MY production. Trying to figure odds of getting one.

People might be disappointed by the concept of the CS engine in the street car, but I think it’s a nice upgrade for those on the track, and couple it with the latest and greatest rubber and PDK and you have a car that will smoke the last one round the ‘Ring

lets not forget that this is a 981.2.
Cant expect porsche to rewrite the book on a “.2”.
But they will make it better as always.

I notice there is no information on the gearing as yet - super important. 😀
