40 HP is a pretty good bump as Porsche usually seems to do small increments between each generation. For all the rumors and cryptic nonsensical posts going around, 3.8 L is a surprise.

I know we all wanted to see a 9k rpm 500hp screamer for under a $100k but all things considered this seems like a really solid upgrade. +40hp for what is really a 981.2 is pretty good as Porsches go. Yeah, it's still detuned from the 991.1 GTS but at least you can feel confident the engine is well tested and reliable.
Based on all the news we had, this is about what was to be expected. I was mostly looking to see if they had decided to increase rpm significantly which would necessitate new gearing. Outside of that, this makes a short geared/pdk converted 4.25 sound really good
