With the headers, tunes and R compound tires available what is the safety cushion for torque on your ring and pinion? Thanks.

I’d like to see track data plots with this. Before and after. Just eye balling it I could see 4 extra shifts at the track I frequent most....

I'm glad you like it! If you want to make it a reality let me know haha.
We'll be here and ready to make it happen when you're comfortable to do so. I'd also be happy to get you set up with whatever other bolt-on bits you are interested in. Where are you located by the way? At least here in the states, Porsche has been quite friendly to most bolt-on upgrades on the GT4s when it comes to warranty work.
The only product we offer that we require an authorized installer arranged before purchase is our GT4 Multi Link Rear Suspension. We will sell our Ring and Pinion to anyone to have installed wherever they'd like, we will not limit the product availability. That being said, as the R&P install is quite complicated I highly recommend doing your homework first and making sure that whoever does your installation has the experience to do so.
Why thank you Josh : ) Perhaps your shop was referring to a 1st and 2nd gear replacement rather than a final drive. Either way, final drive ratios have been a prevalent and common upgrade on many previous Porsche models with similar transmission designs.
This R&P is designed for Motorsport applications and is far beefier than the factory R&P. There is nothing you can do to the torque output of a GT4, including full 4.0 builds, that will effect the integrity of our R&P. The "safety cushion" is well beyond any capable power outputs of the GT4, and (given it was compatible) we'd be comfortable throwing it in any Porsche application with room to spare.
I second ***’s question, and well done John! My shop in London said final drive wouldn’t happen for GT4/Spyder because both first and second were on the input shaft. Not gonna lie I wasn’t completely sure what that meant but it sounded important. Any more details would be appreciated!

Thanks John, that may have been it. My shop has a relationship with GT Gears and I think were explaining why I could only get a shorter 3-5, which doesn’t solve my main problem of the tall second. This might just be the ultimate Spyder street mod. Am hoping to have the car out tonight so will bear those potential new in-gear top speeds in mind. Exciting!

Oh we plenty of early adopters, a half a dozen just in the last few days haha. Expect to start seeing an influx of feedback late November once they have arrived and been installed : )
That being said, once the first batch is all spoken for the next round of pre-orders will likely then be in the February time frame so don't wait too long!
Come November we have made plans to hit Sebring and record video and track data back to back on a few fellows' cars that will be joining us for our hosted track day. We'll also throw in some acceleration testing as well.
To note, this mechanical upgrade has no effect on the software function of the rev match feature. It will operate the same as always : )

John, curious if this mod (or even any power mod for that matter) is automatically 'reflected' in the hp/tq charts from our digital instrument cluster. I don't know if they are dynamic or just statically programmed in.
Meaning, if you add 25hp does the 'dyno' graph move up to show the increase?
If you change the gear rations (or final drive) would the plots change?

Really interested in the reviews from the early adopters.
My car will be hitting storage at the end of Nov and maybe something to have fun with in the Spring.
John - you said there is an competent installer in Ohio?? What city??
Figure this with the LWFW and all the other Mods I already have will be very interesting

Yes BMC&G is located in Athens, Ohio. They are one of the most skilled Porsche transmission specialists in the country, and Brian the owner is one of the nicest guys you'll ever chat with.
