GT4's flooding the market
What is with all of the GT4's suddenly hitting the market? Seems like there are 2 or 3 per day being posted here for sale all of the sudden. Tons listed on dealer sites as well; if 1200 came to America, it seems like there could easily be 1/4 of the total for sale right now. That is insane, I can't recall seeing such a huge wave of people moving out of a car at the same time for something that isn't a VW emissions scandal or similar "problem".
What is up? This is a great car, and I don't understand why everyone is bailing. Do all of these people have a 991.2 GT3 allocation? Moving away from the platform? There isn't anything coming out to replace the GT4 in the near future, and it isn't like the car didn't live up to expectations.
When I said "flooding the market" that was not an intended pun. I wasn't implying that these were all coming out of Houston and the Florida Gulf Coast.....
Just wondering why the sudden rush for the exits, and also where people are going next.....

As a comparison, Porsche sold around 18,000 911's 2009-2011 (which is basically the 997.2 generation, as the 991 came out very early 2012).
Currently 77 997.2 2009-2011 F/S at Porsche dealers in the US right now. Roughly .42% of all cars originally sold during those years.
Currently 39 GT4's for sale, roughly 1.5%.
Also, there are maybe 3 active 997.2 listings on the forum right now. I can think of around 15 GT4 listings off the top of my head. Throw that in, and it becomes .44% and 2%.
That doesn't include the other non-Porsche dealer or other website cars for sale, but we can figure at least double that based on the nearly 100 listed on Autotrader.
Just based on the numbers above, it does seem like some speculating was going on, and now people are likely getting hosed. Doesn't make the car better or worse, but as the previous poster said, if you are going to buy a car just to flip and not to enjoy it, it might not be the best decision. Still, if you paid MSRP and can sell it for ever $5k less, while enjoying a GT4 for a year, it seems worth it in my book.

And plenty sellers very optimistic with asking price so many are sitting realistically a long time chasing the market down. When someone is asking close to .1 GT3 money I think they are a bit optimistic.

It's a great car...more people that have the chance to own one the better.

Those of you saying things like "seems like there might have been some speculation going on"
REALLY?
Thought everyone knew that these types of cars are purchased to try to make a buck by a lot of people.
