Then it will head to paint. When it returns, we install the fire system, safety nets, kill switches and prep it for race duty.

This was a car that started life as a flood recovery car and it ran a year of Driver's Ed duty with the Stage 1 bits (Cobb flash, IPD plenum, Cargraphic race headers & lightweight clutch. Given the high demand for PDK in the GT4 street car and the push for existing 981 owners to move their existing GT4s we have come up with a more economical package to retrofit PDK in the 981 GT4 street car with the hopes that others will follow suit. No more need to find a wrecked PDK car and rob wiring harnesses and control units as we have come up with a turn-key alternative. While the Clubsport is a way to have PDK in a GT4, it can't be driven to/from the track. This car however can.

Stay tuned!
Very interesting...

Much like most projects that arrive here, more work has gotten added to this build while it's in our hands. As recent as yesterday however the car returned from the body shop where the entire interior was sprayed with 2 Stage clear coat to match the exterior. The car now has air jacks, a roll cage and we are about to bolt the PDK trans to the engine. We are also in the middle of retrofitting the GT4 Clubsport brake calipers as well. The car already has the dual master cylinders. This car is the answer for people that want a road going Clubsport level race car that can be driven on the street and registered with a tag because it has a VIN.

Yes indeed! Basically making a road going Clubsport that can be registered to be driven to/from the track.

You'll have to get with Wray our resident wheel expert on that intel!

Next week we should be ready to fire this thing up! Wiring will be complete after the weekend!

I realize that this is a bit of a cross post but for those of you not following our GT4 flood car resurrection thread, I wanted to update you that the PDK conversion for the road car is complete. I also realize that the project completion time took longer than anticipated but this car showed up to have a roll cage and Cayman GT4 Clubsport brakes installed; from there the list turned into air jacks, a PDK conversion, all new shocks and springs, fire system, radio, kill switch, Motec data...the full monte. During the project we found a way to get creative with the wiring and the programming that allowed us to circumvent having to buy more control modules. This entire car is programmed and coded as a Clubsport and we are confident that it's the first of its kind and the only one on the planet that started life as a GT4 road car. I personally drove the car at Daytona last Thursday. We reinstalled the Cobb, the IPD, the larger 82mm throttle body, the Cargraphic race exhaust when i was alongside another stock Clubsport it was quite easy to see how much more power these parts add. Even the pit speed limiter works perfectly so for those of you that want to feel truly awesome in a construction zone on the interstate making that true pit speed limiter noise with the headlamps flashing, we can deliver!

We have ironed out the execution on the project and the wiring is no longer an experiment. The owner of this car found the donor for $50K and said that even had he not, he would still do the PDK conversion. Thanks for following!
