Wind buffeting episode
I was at a DE over the weekend and during my last session of the weekend I experienced violent and loud wind buffeting to my helmet. This was my fourth event in this car and I have never had this happen to me - not even at a lower level of amplitude. The weather conditions were clear skies and almost no wind at all (maybe a gentle breeze). Ambient temp was upper 80s or so. The buffeting started immediately on my first lap of the session but did not occur in left hand turns. I was running solo and had both windows down all the way. My rear wing is set up for full down force and I have removed the aero components in the front underbody to balance the front with the rear as Porsche specifies. The effect of the buffeting was so concerning to me that I pitted as soon as I came around to the pit in at the end of the first lap. The control staff looked at the car and was unable to identify any problems. I have heard others complain about buffeting but would like to hear more about the frequency folks are experiencing it and the conditions under which it is occurring.

Do you have the small airfoils near the mirrors? (AWE or Blackmill) They may help. I think the buffeting is worse in the GT3 than the GT4. I have the blackmill foils on my GT3. Haven't bothered on the GT4.

What if you put each window up maybe just 2 inches?
The mirrow airfoils mentioned above is the answer.

I used the AWE foils on my GT3 and GT4. I believe Suncoast stocks the.

Buffeting is easily fixed. Air foils like mentioned or $20 in windshield wipers. I have the latter on my GT4 and Spyder. Work great.

Three Wheelin'
I have the AWE's for my GT4--they are plastic, but attached with screws from inside the cabin.
I have a similar metal product for my GT3 that one of the forum members (Jon in California I think) that uses 3M tape.
Both are a must on track
