Got my Spyder dyno'd

Car made around 345 rwhp and 297 lb ft torque.

Was interesting. It was a Mustang dynamometer. Cool temps. High 50s. The guys there were impressed at the numbers for the Spyder. Great to find a place with a dyno and Cobb pro tuning so close to my house. Time to save up for some headers and a tune and go back to them to see what the car does!

My brother also dyno'd his M6 and made 500 hp and 500 lb ft at the rear wheel haha! Nuts!

Ah, but do those 500hp stick? Eh? Eh?

Great to have some data for the Spyder, and looking forward to see what headers and a tune will add. I'm running Stage 1 93 on stock exhaust and car feels very sprightly indeed.

haha it does not stick but aggressive rubber can help in that department. That M6 is blisteringly fast and can surprisingly keep its weight in check quite well.

Header plus tune is the plan. Catless headers most likely for me. I am hoping that will enable the car to zing around to the redline with more gusto than it does right now what with the tall gearing and all that.

Did someone say headers and tune?! :icon107:

Lol for real though very cool to see you on the dyno, and I love the color of your Spyder. You've been tossing around the headers for almost a year, just play the following card

Glad you liked it! I made that for my wife when I bought my Cayman R two weeks before we got married. I'd like to say it worked...

I have Cobb , ipd plenum n TB , Kline manifold w hjs 200 cell cats, made substantial difference for me, which I dynoed on dynapac

My results were 355 rwhp ( which at 15% power loss from crank to rwd would put it at about 418hp at the crank ) not concerned so much about the actual number from the results but rather the noticeable difference in how the car drives

* also there seems to be big variance of results depending on the Dyno used

Nice! Glad to hear you are enjoying the upgrades! Always reassuring for someone like me who has yet to start!

I wanted to establish a baseline as I like numbers. I will hopefully be able to do some performance runs too stock and then post-modifications to see if the car got any quicker. I really wish to negate the 'slow' run to redline through the gears aka more acceleration. Seems one way to do it is shorter final ratio or the Sharkwerks route of replacing 3,4,5th, and or lighter flywheel etc and of course there's the free up the engine approach. Should be an interesting journey.
