Check with your 918 VIP program buddies regarding this car.. and if they have a PTS 911R they will actually have some good details on it.... like the fact that's it's PDK-S only.

I completely understand that everything is speculation and I'm pretty much guessing in my theory, but speculation is somewhat entertaining (at least 1 person in this thread will be able to quote themselves 2-3 years from now and say they were right).
That being said, my guess at being correct in a few years (though I will have forgotten about this thread):
If I were Porsche, I'm not sure there is enough data to warrant any price target on a future GT4. Like many have said, I know a lot of people that won't give up their GT3 but also want a GT4. I think this probably stems from the simple fact that the 991 GT3's didn't come in a manual.
It would be easier to gauge how mutually exclusive the sales would be if the 991 GT3 was offered in a manual. While I know its "small" thing, I think its relatively important since these are niche cars. So I think the 2016 lineup is focused on satisfying 2 separate niches with 2 separate cars.
With the advent of a 991.2 GT3 in a manual, I would be keen to see if those 2 separate niches are now satisfied by 1 car.
Point being, I'm not saying they won't make a GT4 in the future. But if I were a betting man (and I'm not, I'm too much of a ....), I figure they are probably going to see the response (volumes, markups, etc) of the 991.2 GT3 manuals before setting a GT4 price target to build the car too at the least.
Full Disclosure:
The GT4 was my first Porsche. I've had it 6 months and 5k miles later I want a GT3. I am unsure if I'd sell my GT4 though when I get a GT3, mainly because I like cars with a interesting story. And I think the 981 GT4 does have a interesting backdrop for its creation. I had a GTR I tracked, and sold it for the GT4 mainly because I wanted to transition back to a manual. If the 991 GT3 came in a manual, and I could get an allocation, I would have bought one of those instead.

Up until this point I'd assumed it's just a Motorsport division MA176 test mule, but if Porsche is actually talking about an upcoming GT4 RS is their VIP conference calls, then that's something quite different.

I do not believe a GT4 RS will be built but who ever thought they would make a GT4. They could possibly skip the next GT4 and make a last "swan" song GT4 RS and then move to a Turbo down the road.
I really do not think the next GT4 will be NA. I think the 991.2 GT3 could be the last. We will see. If there is demand there will be Supply. Maybe we come full circle and smaller cars with weight reduction will prevail over Turbos
if you FI every thing like every one else you will have a tougher time differentiating yourself. - Time will tell

Someone is trying to pull a fast one....
EDIT:
I'm sure people will comment about this but, I have no issues posting the information in this post. It was available under a minute via a whois search. People can pay a small dollar sum to be excluded from this look up. It their prerogative to do this, not mine.

Vic, who owns the GT4RS domain is about to lose a $100 bet to me on this topic. I say there will be NO official GT4RS announcement made by Porsche at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show (as rumored and suggested in the various articles floating around) and he says there will be an official announcement made. Stay tuned.
This is the most I've been interested in the Geneva show in, oh well, ever!
