Looking for comment and or reactions from those who have installed either the sport or race packages. Is the race package super loud? Do you feel a considerable difference in torque? WHAT IS THE BEST OPTION; race or sport

The race kit is a non-starter for most as the headers are catless and therefore illegal to drive on the street in most countries. The sport kit has a 200 cel that is great for the street but may take too much abuse in a dedicated track/race car.

I went with the race kit (GT450) since my GT4 is gonna be a dedicated track car once the kit is installed this month.

So the hard decision I think are for people who wish to drive their car on the street and track/race more than a few times a year - I'm unsure if either kits make sense - if that was my situation I'd most likely keep the headers OEM (can take a beating on the track and are street legal) but would do all the other mods in the kit like the exhaust, IPD, filter, Cobb.

I have the full Fabspeed GT450 kit on my car. The build quality and customer service from Fabspeed is fantastic. Like most of you I have other vehicles to drive so I wanted the ultimate package on my GT4. From a practicality standpoint the full GT450 kit is probably too loud for most people especially if you want to drive it hard around town. However if you shift below 4000rpm it is more than sedate enough to roll by any LEO. I try and pick my spots but once the valves open up it's cup car loud. On the track the GT450 transforms your driving experience. The car performs much better through the mid range and up top. The sound puts you in a constant giddy state of euphoria and every downshift is a precious gift. Even the most stanch Porsche haters will be your fanboys. Obviously it's not for everyone. I prefer my GT4 experiences in small extreme doses. You can view the video of me passing my buddies S2000 on the track on Fabspeeds Instagram page if you want to hear the car.

The best option all depends on the primary use of your car, and your background in upgrades/modifications. The best option for one may not be the best option for another. However, that being said I know these systems inside and out and would be happy to chat with you any time to go over both packages and your goals to determine the best option for you. My work and cell number are in my signature, give me a ring at your earliest convenience so we can get to know each other and go over your goals. We will make sure you are set up with the right combination of products to get the GT4 where you want it

Thanks for chiming in with your thoughts! Very much looking forward to hearing your impressions of the system once you have it installed

Rob that was you passing that S2000?! That video inspired me to collect every GT450 clip I could find and made this compilation video lol. Saved the best for last That collection of videos put me over the edge...I also just added the GT4 Valvetronic Exhaust System to the Race Headers on my Cayman R. My buddy in his GT4 was struggling to keep up this past weekend at NYST haha. Here are both videos, and thank you very much for the review above those were very kind and accurate words

Hi John,

Its been a few days since the install of my race package and here are my observations:

The car became an absolute BEAST, especially in second and third gear at full blast you can hear it half a mile away!!

My butt dyno says that it is significantly more powerful, especially in the mid-range, past 3k when the car goes on cam much sooner due to Steve's tune and continues pulling like a freight train all the way to the red line.
It has been very hard to restrain myself to keep it under 4k to keep the noise down.
I cant run it in my garage for too long cause the smell and noise levels are overwhelming.

I will have a long wait til next spring to take it out on track to really explore what it can do without the running the risk of being arrested
Will report more as I get more driving time in, but so far I am very happy with the upgrades.

I have installed the sport cats on a spyder, with before and after dynos. I have also installed the race headers on a spyder and a gt4, also with before and after dynos. I have also installed the valvetronic exhaust on a gt4 with before and after dynos. Not to mention doing this same work/process on a 987.2. Lets just say there is a reason that I continue to sell Fabspeed headers to my clients. They work.
The sport cats do significantly help with power, but there is still a dip in power around 3500. Its just the nature of having a cat. They also sound a lot better. You wouldn't notice a difference in sound unless you are at wide open throttle. For cruising, it sounds stock.
Same with the race headers. Not obnoxious on the street by any means. The race headers do not have that dip in power around 3500. They have gains across the board.
For me, the valvetronic exhaust is about the sound and removing some weight. They don't make a significant increase in power, at least at my elevation in Colorado springs. The customer that I installed them for is happy with the purchase, but its a track only car. I will post up some dyno charts for you to see.

LET ME PREFACE THIS BY SAYING, all dynos are different and use various correction factors. Do not compare these numbers vs what joe blow posted. This is relevant data for measuring quantifiable gains from a product. This is a superflow dyno and we are in Colorado springs.

Here is a before and after of the sport cat

here is a before and after of the race header

And here is a comparison of the 2, but they are on different cars so mainly pay attention to the different shapes, not the peak numbers.

Travis,

I'm at a loss for words, this is brilliant feedback thank you so much! I've heard nothing but great things about you guys, and will be sure to send any business I have in the area your way. I'll be visiting Colorado during the winter, and will be sure to make a detour over to your shop and say hello
