But those headers don't inject a "modified" tag in the ECU, so Porsche Corporate does not know that anything is modified through a PIWIS scan, unless your dealer tells them when something breaks. And your dealer hasn't, so work with them. ;-)

But as for warranty issues, since these breakages are well documented on stock cars, Porsche would have a hard time denying claims on lightly modified cars. But if you install that twin turbo kit, well then all bets are off.

Porsche will not admit it on the record. This is barely a blip compared to the 996 era 2nd gear pop out issue.

And they don't train dealer techs in tranny repairs. This same gearbox architecture is no a dozen years old and Porsche hasn't released service parts. They are quite happy to sell complete gearboxes and warranty a few here and there.

Do we have a count for those that had multiple failures with the same car (after receiving the warranty work)?

Also, for those that have at least fixed once, do you plan to keep car after warranty period?

^ No. Considering getting one and trying to do a little research to aid my decision. Thanks.

I read this whole thread a few weeks ago and do not recall anyone have a failure twice, which implies the second failure would be on a new transmission.

Right. Didn't take all that long for the failures to begin last year. We will see soon enough if any replacement units fail.

Default GT4 3 red gear failure

I posted a couple weeks ago on the database forum.
Typical loss of third gear
I can't say enough good things about how Foriegn Affairs and Porsche of West Broward took care of me.
They had a transmission from Germany shipped in and in the car in less than two weeks.
Back on track Saturday at Homestead, and all is well.
This experience speaks volumes about the companies we instill our trust in.

I guess Porsche finally figured out they needed to have some spare transmissions on hand after making some owners wait up to 3 months late last year.

Most of them were shipped in from Germany when they actually had them to ship. I guess I'm just wondering why you're singing their praises when they FU'ed quite a few folks around here last year.

Default GT 4 transmission failure

I'm simply sharing my personal experience in this matter.
I was concerned that I would be subjected to a wait similar to others, and would like to believe the powers to be are listening and are responding to our concerns.
Hopefully if/when this happens to another member; their experience will be as good as mine.
