Good luck! The struggle is real. I have 18 ways too and would rather have LWB.

Best of luck in your search, Z-. You know the route I took
PS: a lot of GT4s with buckets have come available for sale. Perhaps can entice a seller for a swap + cash, as they may very well find out the economics may work out better for them...

might be easier when all said and done (hassle/time) to sell your gt4 and find one with buckets. or just buy a really nice aftermarket bucket just for the driver's seat which is a really cool look in itself. My 2c bet is that it will be very tough to find someone to switch with you, they'll want some kind of depreciation/lack of matching with window sticker premium in addition to the price of the seats.. and that's if you find someone with matching stitching to yours. it seems like an almost impossible quest, but I'm subscribed to see what happens. good luck with your search

Hard to say what the going rate is given so few transactions (which for the most part have been held private anyway). There have been a few F/S threads asking $15K but not sure a transaction actually was consummated. Late last yr I believe there was a thread from a fellow member with back problems that needed the sofas and was a local (CA) swap.
That was definitely my case. I found it far easier to find a (new) car spec'ed the way I like than try to make a deal with a fellow member on the seats. Also, $10K extra buys you a lot if you think about the sale value of your own car and another $10K on top, just about any of the F/S cars with buckets are within range if not even cheaper. OP's issue with this scenario is he's got the rarest (and discontinued) production color, so that factor alone weighs a lot.

I know a set that sold for 15k. Really.

It'll be cheaper for you to buy a GT4 with LWB and sell yours.

I only know of two swaps, one of which was me. I had actually toyed with the idea of selling my car and then trying to buy one with LWB's and I still believe that is the easier option. I just happened to be incredibly fortunate.
Since I did custom order my car, and got everything I waned other than LWB's the swap worked out very well in my case. Since I still have "my" car.
And I have to say if you like the look of the LWB's and find them comfortable it is well worth it. It is just a very difficult transaction to put together no matter how you go about it.

As much as I like the LWB's, I'll stick with my 2-ways. I don't see myself tracking the GT4 as much as others on here do, and it's also just easier to get in and out of. I can live with that. I'm still very happy to just also be part of the GT4 family at the end of the day.
