Just returned from a 420 mile round-trip. Now over 18,000 miles, and it'll easily be over 19,000 by the end of July. Driving it makes any trip more of an event.

At a recent track team meeting I brought the GT4 to Panera. A colleague parked his Chalk 991.2 GT3 next to mine (and we were at the nether regions of parking as one might expect).
We had both backed into our spaces against a barrier. We are both track drivers and have front & rear tow hooks "permanently" installed. Wish I had a pic of the two cars together. I thought I took one but...

I arrived first. As he came in to join the meeting he said he had a funny story:

A guy stopped him as he exited his car, and said he and his wife had to know: "what's with the NOSE RINGS"?!

THAT was a new one for me! Never heard them referred to as "nose rings" but it does seem appropriate....
Goes with my "tramp stamp" on the under side of the wing (a friend applied his racing decal there, and it goes with my color scheme...)

"nose ring"

"tramp stamp"

Spinned past 9,000 smiles today, just a few days past three years to the day of when I picked it up.

Unless PDK and or GT4 RS appears, I just don't see upgrading to .2. This is a great car and I don't come close to maximizing its potential. Sure, .2 is likely to be a better car but this one is great for me.

I upgraded the steering wheel to the 991 "Sport GT" version in leather. Night and day difference as I can now grip the wheel without getting fatigue (stock wheel is too small for my hands).

Interesting as I've been looking to upgrade my alcantara wheel to leather. Can you post the link or a pic? Is it a multifunction wheel with buttons? If so, do those do anything?

I will snap a few photos this evening and include the part number. The first wheel arrived with multi-function which does not suit my car so the correct wheel was shipped in from Germany. Matte black spokes with brushed inserts and no multi-function. Suncoast offers them though I simply ordered through PNH so they could install and re-calibrate the steering angle.

Sounds like the same one I’ve been looking for. Thanks!

Today I hugged my 981 GT4 and reassured it that I would not replace it with a 718 GT4, told it everything was going to be okay.

Then I sat in front of my laptop looking at the 718 GT4 configurator for 2 hours straight and had a good cry.

Spyder is certainly the one to have, there is a strong temptation to pull the trigger on one of those.

Appreciating that this sort of banter belongs in another thread, I will just state that I believe that Spyder sales will roughly equal GT4 sales, and the PDK will sell better than the 6MT for both models... interesting times.
