Gave her a wash today. I love the coating. Makes the wash super easy.

Not today, more a summary of the last few days. Last week, I got new rear dampers under guarantee. Porsche dealer asked for ridiculous $$$ to make a proper alignment, so got the car last Wednesday to a independent shop specialised on Porsche. Lowered the car by 10mm / 0.4 inch, camber maximised at 2°50‘ front and slightly increased to 1°50‘ rear.
Yesterday, Trackday on mighty Nordschleife. 5 Stints, 17 rounds, 340km / 210 miles. Started in the wet and dried up, completely dry from 3rd stint onwards. Ended up doing sub 8 rounds at the end, had an ace coach with me. By the way, car needs c. 8l fuel per round, so less than 6mpg. So if you want to do 4 rounds per 30 minute stint (trackday operator allowed you to start the next / last round if you were at Döttinger Höhe 28 minutes in, so easily doable for the quicker drivers), you need to fuel the car inbetween every stint, I envy the GT3 guys with bigger fuel tanks. Pictures to follow in a few days...
Next trackday tomorrow at Bilster Berg.

It is. I’d actually recommend it over Nordschleife. Nordschleife is legendary, but zero tolerance for driver mistakes, while B.B. has all the joy (more elevation than Nordschleife relative to its length) with modern safety / runoff. Some people complain about the lack of heritage and B.B. being a test track only (no races), but I care more about the fun I have

The other big big difference is that the R101LW has a pocketed section in the barrel where the brake caliper is located. This gives you an extra inch of clearance at the brake to barrel. My GT3 had PCCB so debris was getting caught between the caliper and the barrel on the FI-R and would score the barrel. On the R101LW there was enough gap that I could get my hand between the caliper and the barrel. Therefore no more scoring. - to me this is great.
Lastly the FI-R for GT4 isn’t a very aggressive fitment on the front wheel. I have seen others end up using a spacer on the front wheel to get the right offset.
In summary I think the FI-R is a prettier wheel than R101LW but heavier and less optimized for cars with PCCB.
