Bilstein Clubsport damper settings on a GT4

I have a set of these going on now. They have adjustable compression and rebound damping on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being softest.

Who has gone through the learning curve and arrived at settings you like? What are they, and what did you learn?

Thanks in advance.

Paging @Mvez , though he is running custom spring rates and custom valving on his Bilsteins as far as I recall.

Scott O'Connor 07-28-2022 01:53 PM

Haha! I sent him a private message, but posted this to cast a wider net in case there are others running the same gear.

Nice! Out of curiosity, where did you order them from? Look forward to hearing your feedback

Scott O'Connor 07-28-2022 04:44 PM

Montaver, these came from Summit Racing, after backorder.

How long did they take to arrive? Don't see them on the website, although I do see some KW 3 ways on there

Originally was looking at 90+ days, but they came after about 3-4 weeks. I would call them. Also available, albeit with backorder, from Shock Warehouse.

Supreme power had a couple sets in stock as if couple weeks ago. My OEM struts were leaking and I considered these. Curious how they will work out for you.

Scott O'Connor 08-14-2022 01:54 PM

I got some feedback in a private message, to set the front compression at 4-5 and the rear at 6-7, with rebound set 1-2 clicks higher than that at each end. So, that's where I'll start.

Would these work with immocars rear camber plates? If they reuse the stock top mounts I assume so

Montaver 03-11-2023 01:55 PM

Do these come with top mounts to adjust camber or reuse stock?

Scott O'Connor 03-12-2023 12:37 PM

My car already had adjustable top plates.

How did that feel for you? Bilstein is a big proponent of using spring rate, not huge damper adjustment range to get the desired handling, and I can tell you it works. I have the TPC rear toe links which add a ton of rear grip, especially on entry, so I run my setup stiffer out back than perhaps most people.

Actually finally sending my M3 Clubsports in after 6-7 years use for a re-valve and re-fresh. It's a great package.

Feels great, and I haven't changed from those settings.

Awesome. So glad to see a few others getting on board with these shocks. Bilstein's supply network isn't such that vendors are incentivized to sell them, which is a shame, but you can typically catch them with a nice discount/sale from Bilstein a few times a year.

They are sooo good on track, and have great street manners when turned down.
