And the installation torque values are with dry threads, no anti-seize. Using anything on the threads may result in higher stress on the threads than is desirable. Threads should be clean and dry, that's it.

As an update to this thread I've had issues finding the stud kit. Had it ordered from Amazon and then got a note they weren't being shipped as they didn't have them anymore. Have tried a couple different vendors with no luck. Thank you supply chain...

Really would like the studs instead of reusing the original bolts but I'm getting tired of looking at the headers sitting on my workbench! Oh well...

(so instead today I took both 914's for a nice drive as luckily the weather here is a big improvement from my old home in Des Moines right now!!)

Still can't find the studs anywhere. Vendors are saying anything from late February to April! May just go with new bolts from Porsche... getting tired of looking at the headers on my workbench!!

If anyone has a reliable source, please PM me. Found some 1.5" in length, but afraid they're too short.

I may have a set in my toolbox. I remember buying these when I bought my headers but never got around to using them. I can check tomorrow

No, that's not the same car. My car was built in 1983 and raced in IMSA from the Fall of '83 throughout the beginning of 1985. It's considered the "The Last 935" build for professional racing and is generaly referred to as such. The BaT car has been painted to look like it and has a more uncertain past. If you look at the pictures in the link below, you you can see pictures of both cars. My car was the 5 (05) car and the BaT car is the 85 car. I think the people associated with the 85 car would like people to assume it's the same car.

Got the headers in- a little more complicated that I thought, getting all the O2 sensors etc to fit the new headers and mini-cats. Sounds great but I immediately got 4 engine codes and 2 PSM codes. Cleared them and they came right back.
Engine codes P2305, P0352, U418, P0302. Says driving permitted. PSM codes 28688/7010, 28672/7000. Says driving adapting permitted.

Guess I can figure the engine codes but figured the little mini-cats would work for a while! No idea why PSM should be affected unless I somehow loosened a wire somewhere in the process. Will check tomorrow.

Taking a 914 home from my shop- no worry about codes with that car!!!

Everything I've read, the mini-cats do not work on anything 9x7.2 and later (2009+) as the emission system is just too accurate from a sensor standpoint. People seem to have great luck on 9x7.1 models though.

Did you end up using the factory bolts or were you able to find the stud kits?

Found studs but a little longer- worked but would have preferred ones shorter so I didn't have to use a deep socket. Not a lot of room with a couple of the studs!

Didn't have to time today to play it more- had to pick up a new toy, a new Bronco!! Finally came after waiting since last summer... and it has all its chips!

Header install update- finally had some time to figure out codes, etc. Got new coilpaks from Suncoast and went to install- found a loose connection to #2 cylinder coil pak (code was saying #2) so just reconnected it. Cleared codes and restarted car. NO codes! Took a short 6-7 mile ride, no codes, no problems. Car sounds awesome- has a nice bark in Sport +.

GT race headers, with the small Fabspeed mini-cats. Maybe I'd get a smog code in a few hundred miles but I plan on getting a Softronic tune with added code for no cats so it won't matter. I'll get around to installing the new coil paks one of these days...

Bronco is great- nice to have a vehicle I can drive on a gravel road! Luckily we have a dealer here who won't sell over MSRP... hope I'm not in trouble posting a pic of a non P car... ;)

I love to hear the car with the header on it on person sometime.

I had fabspeed sport headers and ended up one year having to put OEM headers back on to clear the CEL. Mini cats didn't work for me.

Now I have the DeMan 4.5L with catless headers. Sound is sublime - hardly any difference with valves closed.

I tip for anyone reading this in the future - USE THE OEM GASKET for the headers. I used one supplied with the sport headers and it was a disaster - a lot of header bolts fell out before I figured out what was going on. Also there is a torque order. And, if you use the OEM bolts, I had to grind down the socket to be thin-walled to clear the OEM exhaust.
