FS: Ferodo DS2500 pads

Hi Guys,

I have a brand new, full F/R set of Ferodo DS2500 track pads for sale. New these are $735, I'll sell them for $550 shipped. Firm.

These fit any 991 GT3 or GT4

Bump for some great track pads. These work even better for those who street drive their car. Great dual purpose pad that performs just as good as a dedicated race pad. Better than OEM on track, not quite a loud and screetchy on the street as DS1.11.

I'd do $500 shipped just to move them. LMK.

Do you think DS1.11 or DS3.11 are not a good idea for 75% street? I have a set of those pads in my garage to change in next. I really liked the DS2500 as dual use pads on my Lotus, but that car has far less demanding brake requirements, so didn't consider for my GT4. Perhaps that is the better pad for me?

I used DS2500 on a 991 track car. Good brakes when my skill grew into them, but as I progressed, they were not good enough. I transitioned to Ds3.12. Far better on the track. No complaints, but no good for the street (too hard on rotors). I used both pads with Girodisc rotors and SRF brake fluid so all other things were equal. The DS2500 is a great dual purpose pad, but not good enough for a dedicated track car.

If the car is a dedicated track car running on pirelli slicks, then DS2500 will wear faster, and something like DS1.11 is more appropriate. The DS2500 is perfectly suitable for a dual purpose car, especially one that sees more street time than track.

DS1.11 and DS3.12 screech horrendously on the street and are really hard on rotors.

Ferodo Pads

I use the DS 1.11 on the street (as well as track) and I'm surprised how little they squeal. I'm still running factory cross-drilled rotors and perhaps it's an issue with slotted rotors (that I'm moving to next.) I love the 1.11 for the track but will be trying the 3.12 next.

Thanks guys. Are DS2500s better than or equal to the stock pad in terms of bite and heat resistance? If so, might be interested in trying to trade mvez.

Better than stock/oem irons on my prior 991 track car with 350 mm Girodiscs front and rear. Not better than PCCBs. Not better than ds3.12 but ds3.12 maybe too harsh on rotors for street use.

Awrryan, how many track days are you getting from a set of Girodisc slotted? Thx!

I don’t know. I sold the ones for my GT4 (carbon ceramic replacements) before I was anywhere near a significant amount of wear. Used them with ds2500 which wore better on my gt4 than Carrera with Girodiscs because of what I believe to be better heat dissipation. On my Carrera I believe they lasted at least a season. That would be about 8 track weekends or so. Possibly more. Don’t remember. I track homestead, Sebring and Daytona. The giros were really really good. I went through one set quickly but can say I failed to properly cool down the rotors. When properly cooled, they wear well.
