Really zero drop off in power past 6500rpms, it’s a night and day difference. Instead of spending 15k plus in parts and labor for the X51 kit where you lose low end for high end gain, these runners give you 90% of the top end without the low end loss and it costs 10k cheaper (labor was 3 hours). These runners plus IPD plus GT3 TB - Think of it as a final f-u to Porsche for hamstringing the intake portion of this engine so it wouldn’t step on the GT3’s toes

i cant go back to my ‘stock’ car anymore :icon107:

Did your “friend” notice any increase in torque?

user1029 04-25-2019 11:58 PM

Not too much but that’s what the 4.5L conversion is for :)

re the X51, if you dump the intake manifold and just fit the new heads (with new inlet cams, springs and retainers) plus get the tune sorted, then you get the top end boost without losing "the low end". In fact you get good gains across the board. I'm keen to seen how these runners work with my X51 head, IPD and GT3 TB just don't want to be an experimental "bunny" again.

I thought Jamie said they didn't see further gains from the IPD plenum and throttle body with their runners?

nope. Said that we don’t see gains with the throttle body and IPD plenum with just headers: Runners change the game and need a bigger inlet to ingest more air

Hey Jamie, I can see I'm just going to have to be a "bunny" again and give these runners a go! FYI we found we had to change a lot of lines of code (copied from a GTS ECU program) to get the heads to work properly as the the overall volumetric efficiency was outside the GT4 model boundaries. Did you find this with runners and somehow get it solved with just the COBB? Have you tired the X51 heads with the runners?

We were able to get the car quite happy by using just the Cobb. X51 heads aren’t much different than stock heads a little extrude honing. The cams are nicer with X51. The thing that is difficult in tuning a stock GT4 for X51 is the intake manifold and how different the torque curve is.

its way easier to just re code the car at that point.

Lets chat offline via email. Ideally I’d love to see a before and after dyno on your car and we can help decide if Intake runners will make a significant difference or no...

A bit of data for you boys.

Keep in mind this isn't an optimized tune yet... First one should get your attention...

Are there dyno charts available that compares Dundon headers + Dundon intake runners vs the the same with the full recommend items (gt3 exhaust + ipd/tb)?

No we didn't include those dyno's as the stock throttle becomes a restriction as measured by pressure drop in the manifold at full throttle.
You can run the stock exhaust, we recommend against it for anything that will see any track time as on the dyno the oil temps rose quite quickly with all the mods and the stock exhaust, vs the GT3 muffler adapter. We weren't comfortable with the temp rise so highly recommend people to get the the GT3 Over axles.

I’ve been running the D3 e-tune and I decided to get a Cobb protune today for my D3 setup :)

Solid line - protune
Dotted line - Dundon e-tune

Everything went smoothly with the tune, notably no rise in oil temps despite back to back pulls with PSE. I highly recommend finding a local br0tuner and getting a custom protune to match your octane levels, sea level, etc :jumper:

Awesome. What mods do you have? What is D3 vs D4?

user1029 10-03-2019 12:17 AM

Dundon Intake runners, Dundon race header, GT3 TB, IPD Plenum, K&N filters, PSE :jumper:

D4 is GT3 muffler conversion

Nice. Looks like it might be worth a custom tune. Wonder if you would need a separate pro tune for GT3 muffler and PSE.

I'll try find someone local to me

That's like an extra 45HP over stock, Is the extra power very noticeable?
