718 GT4

The Geneva Auto Show is right around the corner.
Perhaps that will shed some light on this topic.

Couldn't Have Said It Better
I'd also add that the interior on the 718's just seems slightly ugly. Not a fan of the "space cones" dash board vents, and the new stitching pattern on the dash is just not appealing to me. Several dealers have commented to me that the 718 is "just a better car" but the criteria for "better" vary from person to person. Maybe it's faster. Maybe it handles better. But I've got my own metrics and the 981 GT4 wins.
Like you, I'll be keeping my 981 GT4 too.

It is objectively a better car. You can say subjectively that you don't agree but that doesn't make it any less true that it's a better car.
For what it's worth I agree with you the 981 is a much more attractive package.

The steering wheel has those weird exposed screws on the front. Way too busy.
The bulging exotic headlamp covers are now flat. The taillights used to be round organic taillights. The thin lines in the taillamp housing just breaks the design. I see how they're trying to go with family design language of thin line taillights, but they just stuck them in a round housing. It doesn't fit the round housing or smooth rear haunches.
They also added those horizontal strakes to the side vents. They were perfect before - clean yet exotic.
It's like they took every detail and tweaked it just to be different, but IMHO the 981 is damn near perfect in design. Only improvements I could make are removing the roof wart for sat-radio and the door handles could be shaved. IMHO, only misstep in the 981 was the clear center in the GTS taillights.

rest assured however, the 4.0L from the GT3 will be a significant improvement in performance and a good excuse to upgrade.
Although, a X51 powerkit on a 981 GT4 could be just as much fun. But then again, imagine uncorking a 718 GT4 motor to match the 991.2GT3 motor....
