jack strategy for swapping rear wheels?
I'd like to swap the rear wheels. When I lift the right rear jackpoint, the whole right side of the car comes up, including the front right wheel. After getting a jackstand on that right rear point, should I jack up the left rear, which should lower the right front of the car in the process? Goal is to have the two rear jackpoints with jackstands and the front tires on the ground or on ramps.

Three Wheelin'
How high are you jacking the car up?
i only jack it up 1 inch off the ground — works fine even with -2.0 rear camber
i use 2 jacks at once with chocks on front and car in gear with parking brake (for front wheel changes) on unless hot from track

when i put the rear on stands i use the red point pictured in this thread and make sure the center of the jack is on one of the bolts so it does not mar up the aluminum piece...
will work in your case. if you do this with the intention of putting the front up too, then it becomes a trick because once the rear is so high the front is basically on the ground (front lip)

I have not tried these yet, but they look perfect, at least in concept.

A set of Jackpoints is a good investment.

Jackpot does sell a low profile jack which does not require any form of a ramp. Pricey but a very nice jack. If I was still club racing I'd buy one.

- raise drivers side of car just high enough for tyre(s) to clear ground using floor jack and rear jack point
- change tyre(s)
- lower car
- repeat for other side
much faster than raising both sides and using jackstands
I never feel the need to use jackstands if just changing rear tyres / wheels.
If you are going to do more involved maintenance, then jackstands are prudent.

I bought a pair of Jackpoint stands a while back, but I've yet to find a jack with a saddle low enough to get under the the car with the necessary Jackpoint metal disc in place on the saddle. It becomes necessary to have the car up on wood first, or partially lifted with another jack first at the other jacking location on that side. Pain in the butt that ruins what would be a slick, pleasant design in the Jackpoints. If Jackpoint could make a stand that was maybe 1-2" shorter, with a metal disc that was lower profile to get under the car while on the jack saddle, it would be perfect. Fortunately I'll be getting a four-post lift with rolling bridge jacks soon, so this will hopefully become a moot point.
