Hi All,

I'm looking to save some $$$ on replacing my front brake pads on 996 C4S 02' so doing it myself. I have the new pads and sensors and changing them over is straight forward. My question, which I have not been able to locate in the threads - "Is it ok to swap the pads over without bleeding the brakes?

Your brake fluid should be flushed every 2 years. When was the last service?

the answer is yes.
be sure to remove cover of master cylinder before compressing the calipers to get the pads out. not a bad idea to put a rag around the master cylinder.
As lex said you should swap out the fluid every track event or every other year. for $50 you can get a motul bleeder system which makes the whole fluid swap very easy to do without an assistant.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the advice. It needs the flush done but pads are really low so wanted to get the new ones in now and do the flush and bleed later. Will grab one of the bleeder systems.
