Things said to you after you bought your first Porsche...
Being a first time Porsche owner, just over 3 weeks now, I've been surprised at the reactions of others when they find out.
I was washing it yesterday when a neighbor walking by said, "You bought THAT!?
I'm guessing I'm not alone in this. (:

A week after I got my 997.2S, I was at the post office. Gent gets out of his car, and says "You have a bad *** car!" Thank you, I said, my wife bought it for me for my 50th birthday. He responds - "You have a bad *** wife!" Yes, yes I do, methinks to myself.

Back when I purchased my first street Porsche (a year old 911SC Targa) at the age of 20, I told the salesman that I was very worried about what my parents were going to say when they came out and saw it in the garage. My father was a staunch Mercedes guy, owning 6 at the time, and hated Porsches.

Various comments about people asking me what I do for living. Probably stems from the fact that my preferred choice of clothing most weekends is jeans and a themed t shirt. Apparently I don't "look" the part.
