Default Buying my first Porsche (advice welcomed)

Hello forum,

long time lurker, new member here

I'm finally ready to buy my first porsche 911!

I'm shopping for a 996 or a 997 under 35000 in Canada.

I've got it narrowed down to two c4s 996s, an 02 and an 03 both with 100,000km, and a 2005 c2 997 with 167,000km

the 2002 C4S 110000km has had a new clutch put in, everything mechanically sound . Worn interior, is from a reputable dealer willing to replace rms seal and install ceramic bearing on IMS @$ 35000

2003 C4S 90,000km which hasn't seen rain in years, and has the original clutch. tires worn out, but has a spotless interior. PPI being done next week. $31,000

or the wildcard 2005 997 c2 with 167000km upgraded rims / suspension. costs $33,000

I was hoping for the awd for winter and rain driving but getting into a 997 sure would be nice...

any advice or input would be very appreciated.

I'd look for best maintenance records with least questionable PPI. I would take a clean, lower mileage 996 over sketchy 997 any day. If you were in the USA, I'd have one for you :-) I opted for lowest miles I could find, I did the IMS proactively and have enjoyed it for 2 full years with zero issues. My 2003 has 26.6k / 48k-ish KMs on it now. PM me if you have any questions. I went through the same thing searching for mine 2 years ago.

C4S should be the best buy out of all configurations. Turbo suspension and breaks, wide body. Get the dealer to do all the work and as far as interior, take that as a chance to personalize it the way you want (aluminum, carbon, alcantra...)
