I'm amazed that it beat the gumpert (which I never agreed with their world's ugliest exotic car moniker) by 7 seconds.
Rumors persist that Schumacher is not actually the Stig but merely a first episode promotion stunt. Who knows?

I really don't think Schume has been working for Top gear for the past 5 + years.
From what I heard they have a few test drivers and some times even the manufacture of the car there testing sends one down to do a lap on there course.

It'd be really naive for someone to truly believe Schumi has been the "Stig" this whole time.
Like stated above, most likely the manufacturers send their own drivers if they choose to for special cars. The FXX is a very limited car, so it's highly likely that Ferrari did not want anyone to drive it unless they paid for it or it's their golden boy piloting.
For example, when the Renault F1 performed a lap around the Top Gear test track, it was believed to be Alonso that was piloting.

1st off the stig is not Michael Schumacher, it was a joke. 2nd the FXX is not a street car that was on slicks not street tires so it doesn't count on the list of lap times. They removed the time from the leaderboard on the next episode.
