Default Amazing? Horrible?! Carrera GT engine swap..

I don't know where to start, I work at a local VW dealership, and there was a lot of fuss this morning over something I thought I'd NEVER see. Our service managed came up to myself and the other managers, and told us that a local high class german car shop down the road had a Carrera GT in for an engine swap

We asked what engine was going in, and he said he had no clue. I headed over myself, and this is what I saw:

^Old engine comming out. He said he was selling it back to Porsche. 600Mi. on it!

^Underbody panel.

So after seeing all of that, I was wondering what engine was going in...well.

You probably won't believe your eyes, but it was a Corvette LS1. The owner didn't want me taking pics of the engine as he said it still had twin turbos to go on, but I managed to sneak one.

I still can't believe my eyes, but it's real.

The CGT is in for crank sensor replacement. The LS1 engine pic was from somewhere else.

Isn't the engine semi-stressed anyways?

Good initiative for a scam though and I like the attention to detail re blurring up the engine picture so that it matched. If they had done something similar with say an '73 RS getting a chevy V8 because the owner wanted to avoid adding miles to his precious engine they would have had a good thing going... This was too far fetched.

Cheers,

David

I think they did a good job at trying to prank the group... friendly fun from another board. Reading their board, they sure had fun pulling it together. Hmmm... time for some friendly payback?

Good idea,

Though probably not on this thread as "Predwolf" started this thread.... ;-)

Howabout some fake consumer research that question's Scooby driver's masculinity?! The new hairdresser's car?! Ricer's found to be caught in spiral of downward brain cell loss due to excessive bass from their exhausts and ICE...

Cheers,

David

That's a Subi board right? Someone with an account should post this for them...

See that thread? all those bananna's are posting this crap all over the forums to get people riled up. Seriously, are they out of KY or something? Lots of hands over there with nothing else better to do.

Actually, using one of those engines in a beetle or a 356 isn't such a bad idea given the potential power... I wonder where the radiator goes?

with respect to the 356 with the sub engine, they say it's a mid-engine layout?!?!? odd. And check out the pedals, they are hinged @ the top!! A bit of a mutt I'd say.
