First - I’ve spent countless hours in here and have learned a ton! Thank you!

My dilemma…

Buying my first and can NOT decide. Down to two:

991.1 Turbo S <20k miles and it’s FLAWLESS. I know the family (sort of, family friends of family friends - the gentleman has several homes and a 911 in each #goals… he’s just a bit older now and struggles getting in and out of them). The car is BEAUTIFUL and service history is spot on.

OR…

991.2 Turbo cab, $14k less, but 30k more miles BUT it is CPO.

So… both are beautiful, could never walk away from them without turning back to look. Both drive phenomenally of course. Love the color scheme and interior of both. I’m leaning CPO but don’t love the extra miles however I like the lower price too.

Redhead vs the blond type question so you can't lose. That said, not to offend but I am partial to blondes and Coupes over Cabs, especially in the TTS. The lines are just so beautiful in the Coupe TTS and no Cab hump. But the redhead doesn't sound bad either....

Yeah I was thinking the same thing lol I’m just unsure how much weight there is to the CPO. It’s the TT where the non CPO is the TTS. I found myself looking at a 992 CS4 earlier in the same price range…. They’re all so pretty haha I’ve settled on the two in question though and am leaning towards the CPO then trading it in when it’s out for a newer TTS. BUT, as it’ll be my DD I’m curious if the mileage would be a killer at another 20k on it?

In my opinion, the 991.1 Turbo S represents one of the best deals in a car with super car performance levels. Personally, I’d take a cabriolet over a coupe every single time, but everyone has their own unique preferences! I used to be a coupe guy until I drove a cabriolet. Now I could never go back to a coupe. The 991 Turbo and Turbo S cars are remarkably reliable. Of course any car can have a failure that needs to be repaired, but these cars don’t break often. I bought my 991.1 TTS as a CPO car, and it never needed a single repair during the warranty period. In fact, the only “repair” that it has ever needed was an adjustment to the parking brake. That’s not bad for a ten year old car!

Every generation of the 911 (including the mid cycle upgrade) offers incremental updates over the previous generation. The 991.2 added a few nice things, including Apple CarPlay (although there are aftermarket solutions for the 991.1), an upgraded steering wheel, bigger turbos with more power, redesigned front and rear bumpers, revised tail lights, etc. To me, these things alone aren’t enough to make the 991.2 an obvious choice over a 991.1. I’d much rather buy a 991.1 with a good service history and the colors/options that I want.

Be honest with yourself - do you prefer a coupe or a cab? Simple as that - I went from a 996TT coupe to a 996TT cab and couldn’t be happier. Of course these cars are next level, but it still boils down to that decision. If you don’t really want the cab, the CPO won’t make you happier.

Tell us more. Model year, colors and where you live. Had our first 911 about 8 weeks and love the cab!

Live in CO. Both are GT Silver. 2015 Coupe has Espresso/Cognac interior and 2017 Cab has Black and Bordeaux Red interior. I personally love the colors of both. There is nothing about either one that pushes me away and I can make a solid case for the Coupe as well as the Cab. In winter months here in CO I have a truck for the few couple days the roads are terrible. They’re so good at clearing them now.

I live in Colorado too, and I also have a truck that I drive most of the time. That said, I find at least one day each month of the year that is nice enough for a drive in the Porsche with the top down. I have a set winter tires that are mounted on my OE wheels. Colorado is a nice state for Porsche ownership as there are many great drives/roads.

I lean to the 991 coupe. With that mileage, Fidelity is reasonably priced. Does the Can have ventilated & heated seats/steering wheel? Must haves in any open top P-car IMO. Enjoy whichever you choose!

Take the Turbo S, if you want a drop top buy a spyder.

My vote lower mileage Turbo S from the reliable seller . How many miles a year do you drive? If the mileage is low the CPO isn't worth that much. I would have a mechanic inspect the 2015 if you go that route. Higher mileage cab is worth less and should be less. Also the 30K in less mileage is equal to at least 2 or 3 years of daily driving just to catch up to the cab. You can always purchase a reasonable priced warranty if you feel the need for a car with less than 20K miles. GO with the coupe.
