How many of you thinking of selling?
hi everyone : I had a Nissan 300Z twin turbo which I enjoyed for 10+years in my 30s. Aways dreamed of a 911. Finally got one in my 50s when money allows. The car is absolutely flawless. But maybe my age , I don't have the excitement or thrill as my Z in my 30s. I mostly driving like a grandpa now. Nothing like in my 30s that I would floor my Z whenever I had the chance and corner
ing as if I am a race car driver. Also I don't feel like to drive my 911 as much ( about 3k miles a year). Do any of you guys has the similar feelings? And how many of you thinking of selling the 911 due to the little usage & loss of excitement?

Thinking of Selling
Me thinks you are in need of a Track Day. Or at least an AutoCross day. Me thinks if you drive the car the way it was built to be driven the thrill of driving will return. It has for me, I am hooked on tracking.

Not me...hit triple digits every time I take her out (55 years old) and I cannot see it any less excitement from the car or motorcycle as long as I live...guess it has to be in one's blood.

Late (gulp) 50's here. My 991.2 C2 MT is my weekend joy. It stirs me to my very soul and I don't need to be at risk of arrest to really enjoy the drive. It may not be your thing. No shame in that. Try boating, you'll be back.

What year is your 911 looks very new so very fast. I am seventy been driving a air cooled porsche for forty seven years. I have found the new porsche's are so fast that you don't use all the power you have at hand because speed comes on so fast. I drive a 1998 carrera s now and car is so much fun to drive because the feel of speed is probably the same as your 300 Z slower than new porsches but fast in a different way. I still feel the thrill every time i drive it. Oh again what year is your silver 911. George.

Bought my first (718 CS) last year at 57. Purely a toy and one that brings a big smile to my face every time I climb in. May or may not 'upgrade' to something faster and less practical with a wing and naturally aspirated 6 out back. Only regret is not starting sooner. While the OP's feelings are valid for him, I think he's going to be in the distinct minority here on Rennlist. Asking how many are tired of their Porsches here has the same yield as looking for MAGA hats at a Mensa meeting.

My 911 is 2012 C2S. Thanks all for your comment. I am keeping my 911. Just wishing that I had bought it earlier. Also an advise for people who is planning on buying a Porsche sport car: don't wait too long.
Cheers!

Try driving a Cayman S, GTS or GT4. I suspect you'll get more out of it and it will drive more sports car like.
