Senior Porsche Owners?

My wife and i don't consider ourselves seniors yet, as our age does not yet interfere with our lifestyle. But we are 73, she retired at 60 and i retired 4.5 years ago at 69. We have focused on health, nutrition, and exercise since the 1970s. So health is not a factor yet. I still enjoy some track days nearby, but my wife could care less, so we don't travel for my track days like we used to.
I have owned 10 Porsches since 1970. Drove 4 banger Porsches for 30 years while i learned (painfully) how to save and invest. Could not join PCA till 1983 because the Chicago Region did not allow 914 owners to join.
I never made a ton of money as an engineer and my wife made a lot less. Fortunately my wife and i learned to be frugal together, and I learned how to be our financial advisor. We now have more income in retirement that we ever had when working. Nothing against financial advisors, because many folks have no clue in this area. Very few high schools and colleges teach much personal finance. I always joke that if I had hired a financial advisor, he'd be driving a new Porsche and I'd be safe in my Toyota Corolla or Golf.
My latest Porsche is a brand new 2017 911 Carrera S Endurance Racing Edition that i stole this year, with warranty punched in late June 2018 when I bought it. With this purchase i also negotiated a great deal for my dealer to install the X51 PowerKit, which is the way Porsche should have built it. So i have one of 73 of these imported to the USA, and one of only very few with the X51 PowerKit. I like think of this one as a narrow body GTS, with all the options, in a limited Weissach Edition 911 Carrera. It's a great street machine with it super torque and PSE, and a bear on the track with its PDCC, RAS, SC,
This is my tenth Porsche, and my wife (altho she could care less about cars) named him "Ten". My #9 Porsche trade was my first 911 and she had named that one "Nine".
Life is good 🚘 🏁 👍

Thats a wonderful story. My wife called my last car the -itch, so you could assume 10 is an endearing name. Thats impressive you thought 50 or so years ago about good nutrition. Happy for you both it paid off. Your Weissach Ed. sounds very cool, mind sharing some pics. as well as a few specs.
Enjoy your good health, Orlando this winter, and that great success story. Life can be good with some work and a little luck. We get to Ormond Beach on occasion, maybe ill see you at Sebring someday with #10.

Having reached the 60 mark last year and having been involved with racing since 1973 and Porsches since 1981, I sold my Cayman S because it wasn't hard core enough even after a huge number of upgrades. I purchased a GT4 and have since put on a full fvd M&M race exhaust tune. I love the rawness of the car and plan on tracking and Instructing for a long, long time to come. When I'm not playing with cars, my wife and I are out on our wakeboard boat wakeboarding, wake surfing, and slalom skiing. Remember, it's not how old you are, it's how young you feel. (btw, my father was 60 years old when I was born, my mother was 33).

67, have had a few Porsches along with a bunch of other cars over the years. Most recently, a 981 BS, gone now (really miss it!) and currently, a 991.2 C2S and a Macan GTS. Track days a few times a year, autocross now and then, and daily enjoyment. Love my P cars!

78, and still driving cross-country and triple-digits when road conditions allow. Have been in Porsches since 1972, all of them "drivers", although the '72 is getting a bit pricy for driving on public roads. Have been active in various Porsche clubs/regions (TX, CT, FL, NC, CA) and have participated in track events in all these states. Enjoyment chronology:
1965 356 SC
1972 911E, Targa (still have)
1974 914 2.0
1975 914 2.0
1980 911SC
1991 964 Turbo (Ruf)
2002 C4 Cab (still have)
Nice to see so many "seniors" active and enthusiastic.
Cheers,
Bahman

78 here. I've had one 912, three 911s, one 928. Now have 2019 Cayenne S. I bought it for trips with wife and dogs. Has virtually all options and I think it drives better, on the road, than any car I've had. I don't drive as fast as I used to - my reactions are not as fast, and I've decided I may be mortal - and I don't mind all the little safety stuff.

60, purchased my first (and current) at 57. Kicking myself for waiting so long, but that's the way I'm wired - inveterate saver and self-denier. First track weekend in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to it.

Me and my wife are 62. Bought our first Porsche, a 2019 C4S last year at the beginning of the pandemic. We were 61.
But, we are not seniors!

I will be 75 soon and I picked up my first Porsche at the factory, in the fall 1970, a 1971 911T. Since then I have owned approximately 21 Porsches. I currently own a 2019 Panamera Gran Tourismo, which I think is the perfect "old mans" Porsche. I traded my 991.1 turbo for the Panamera last fall. At 75, I am still very active and healthy and continue to ride my motorcycle and ski 100 plus days a year.

Age 70 - 1 In The Garage; Another On The Way
I'm 2 months shy of age 70 and currently have a 2021 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 (Python Green 🟢 ) . . . AND . . . just received 3 days ago a build allocation and put my order in for a 2021 GT4 (Carrera White, Black Wheels, Black & Red Stitch Interior, White Instrument Dials ⚪️⚫️🔴 ).
As Clint Eastwood says, "Don't Let The Old Man In".
Porsches can be the perfect Rx 💊🤣👍🏎

First Porsche was a ‘67 911T bought when I was stationed in England in 1974. I have since owned 50 911’s, a Panamera, 4 Cayenne’s and 5 Macan’s. I currently have a ‘19 Macan and a 2022 Carrera S on order for November delivery.
Don’t ask!

A Porsche makes 70 the new...
Heading towards 71 next month. Driving my first Porsche a 2003 996 Cab which I bought 2 years ago.
Live at the beach so convertible was really the only way to go for me. Love dropping it into second and leaving the traffic behind. I am a courteous driver but love going fast when conditions permit. Here in the LA area that means staying off the freeways or paying for the fast lanes which are wide open.
My daughter gave me a gift certificate for Porsche Experience. Waiting for my brother-in-law to get here from Toronto area to do it together. He bought his after driving mine. He is a young one though in his 50s. Anybody done this yet?
Thanks for starting this thread.
