Default Any Carrera is Rare

In the greater scheme of things, that is. Just did a 1500 mile, three day road trip from N.Florida, through Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Wisconsin to Minnesota. Saw exactly one Carrera, a 997 cab. That surprised me. Other Pcars out there were largely Cayennes/Macans and a handful of Boxsters. But, all in all, scarce.

And America's sports car is definitely the Vette. Seems like they outnumber Mustangs.
That is all.

Alas. True. I see more Porsche SUVs than anything on the road. Even more Boxsters, Pannies and Caymans than 911s.

Take a road trip, you might see one or two and those typically if you're driving through big city.

Exactly! Exception is Miami - they are as plentiful as Hyundai down there....

Spend more time on the back roads. I've got my 356C coupe here in N Central Florida (near Gainesville) and I know of several others in the area. My neighbors horse barn has a Austin Healy Mk IV 3000, a 993, a early 60s Jag, and a few late 60s muscle cars in it.

Sadly I think most Carreras are relegated to garage duty where they live out their days in pristine, low mileage condition being saved for the next owner to enjoy.

When I was growing up in the Fort Lauderdale area, 1960's and beyond, you would see all sorts of imports, 911s were common. A high school friend of mine had a neighbor with a 300SL that sat outside in the driveway.

My high school parking lot was filled with current year muscle cars, one kid drove a green/tan Jaguar XKE convertible as his daily driver.

I parked cars for a summer at an upscale restaurant there and Ferraris, Lambos, Porches and Mercs would show up and these people would give the keys to a 16 yoa without thinking to park. Lots of old money there.

The area hasn't lost its rep for lots of high value imports, pretty common still.

Where I live now is a desert for 911s though I see the same two parked outside professional offices regularly. On the road, I saw a red 911 at an intersection, that's the only other one I've seen in months.

I drove the wife to Southlake about 2 weeks ago. Ritzy suburb in DFW. Drove around while she did her meeting. There and back, about a baker's dozen P cars spotted, mine was the only 911. One Panny, the rest SUVs.

Perhaps even worse, mine was the only one not black, white or gray.

Quite a few in my area of FL along the coast and I see 911s more than other P-cars - cabs & targas mostly which is not surprise. But not too many exotics like south FL...sight to see on a Friday night in Miami Beach.

Palm Beach county has many. Saw a Fashion Grey 911 at the Publix last week. That was a rare sight.

In central Jersey shore area I see a 911 maybe once every couple of weeks.
