Default FS 944 Full Coilovers

New, made to order 944 Coilovers.

I worked a deal with the UK manufacturing company for these shocks and I'm selling new made to order here on the list for a discounted price. Basically a group buy rate without a minimum order required.

Complete front and rear kit:
$1600 Shipped

1. Front and rear units adjust bump and rebound from a single control **** on the side of the unit.

2. Struts and semi struts have 62mm bodies for increased oil capacity. These units are fitted with 22mm diameter induction hardened piston rods that are hard chrome plated for strength and durability.

3. All units have multi lip sealing. The outer seal is a metal encased wiper to clean the piston rod. This in turn extends main seal performance and oil retention under extreme conditions.

4. All the Gold range are fitted with a gas cell in the outer reservoir and filled with a high viscosity index multi grade oil to prevent cavitation and reduce fade in motor racing conditions.

5. The coilovers and telescopic units in this range utilise lightweight billet alloy components where possible, i.e. bases, end fittings, seats, lockrings, rod guides and gland nuts. The outer tube is steel with a nickel coating to provide the best anti corrosive finish possible. All outer alloy components are anodised.

6. A full range of springs are stocked at the factory for road and motorsport use.

Also available are adjustable camber plates. PM for price.

I've been using the same setup on my car (not the camber plates) for over 1k street miles and I love them. If I need the car to be a little stiffer I don't even have to jack the car up to adjust them, it takes 2 minutes tops. I ran with 450lb fronts and 650lb rears, those springs make for a stiff ride on the street. The shocks do a wonderful job of absorbing the little bumps so it's not teeth chattering, but it's by no means a Cadillac. I aired more towards track and not street.

My only suggestions are that you should switch to Racer's Edge lower rear shock mounts if you're not using your torsion bars and are running high rear spring rates. I don't trust the sheer strength of the lower bolt carrying all that force.

This are BRAND NEW and will be made to order. The valving and spring rates will be made to your specifications. Any questions don't hesitate to ask.

$1600 Shipped

Looks nice. Is there a limited amount of sets available?

I may check back in a couple short months here if I can save up a few more pennies.

When the car is at race height how much shock travel is left?

There are no limit on quantity, just the price is time dependent. I can't guarantee it will stay at 1250 forever.

The shock is shorter than stock. Mine were fully extended and my ride height from the ground to highest point inside fender is 24.25inches or 12.5 inches from center of wheel. I'm using recessed adjustable camber plates and I had to switch to RE spring hats to clear the camber plate which raised the ride height a little and in turn I had to lower the collars.

Not sure what "Race Height" is, but with the RE hats I still have 95% travel at 24.25.

I'm interested for my 968. Do you like the Gaz coilovers better than the Koni's that you had?

I do like them better. My Konis were the single adjustable ones, and to get them stiff enough in the corners I had to crank up the valve. That meant they would skip across non-smooth roads cause they were almost locked. These are much better at smoothing and absorbing the roughness. I don't think I would go any stiffer on the springs for street though, they don't like sudden abrupt bumps like ice heaves.

Ice heaves are sections of the road that raise or lower a few inches due to water freezing under the road. The ones I've encountered almost always run perpendicular to the road. Kinda looks like this:

interesting.
How do they perform on the track ?
Do you use them on a 951 ?
Do you have any other upgrades such as M030 968 CS antiroll bars or other ?

I haven't been to the track yet.

My car is a 86 N/A but I have 86 turbo spindles so yeah they'll fit the turbo.

My front suspension has delrin bushings on the sway bars and a-arm and 968 MO30 30mm sway bar. Also I'm running the adjustable camber plate on the top. The rear has the 19mm adj 968 bar.

Default Offer still available?

Is the GAZ offer still available? If so, what is the price of the adjustable camber plates? Just to clarify, are the springs included?

Yes the offer is still available. Everything is included (springs, shocks, hats, and spacers) in the price. The adjustable camber plates are $325 a set.

Dan,

I'm also interested in a set F&R as well as the camber plates for my '86 but I'm not sure what all I would need to install them on a bone stock 951. I also would need a more street friendly setup as far as the spring rates and I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks,

Derek

Edit: Feel free to PM specifics.

Has anyone here bought these? I would like to hear other opinions. Price is resonable for sure.

I would really like to know how they perform on the track, I am possibly interested in 2 sets. Has anyone used these at the track?
