Default FS: ideal Spec Boxster donor car at a great price! ($6995)

Last year I bought a beautiful triple-black 97 Boxster to convert into a Spec Boxster. However, I'm buying another fully built Spec Boxster so I don’t need this donor car any more.

I’ve been driving this car on the street for more than a year and it is a nice car that I could easily sell on the used car market. However I'd have to first fix/replace a few things (see below) - NONE of which would matter at all if you want to convert it into a Spec Boxster. So I’m offering the car up first as a donor car and you can save a lot of money – I don’t have to pay to replace some parts and you get a fantastic deal! Only $6995.

The specifics:

- 1997 Triple Black Boxster
- 65,852 miles - runs great
- Really good condition except for the following - none of which will matter at all for a Spec Boxster build!!!
  • Will need a new clutch soon (but not yet slipping) - SPBOX build requires a new clutch and flywheel anyway
  • CEL is on - OBD codes P0410 and P1411 codes (air injection leak or pump) - don't need for a SPBOX
  • Airbag light is on - don't need for a SPBOX
  • Hood has a couple of very small dents and one small paint blemish – see red arrows in photos
  • Rear bumper and fender have some very light cosmetic scrapes – see photos (will likely buff out well)
  • Tires will need replaced soon – again not an issue for a SPBOX which uses Toyos
- Engine runs super smooth and strong I had it dyno'd about a year ago and it was right at spec (I can send the dyno results)
- No oil leaks
- Car is currently located in Austin
- $6995

If you’ve been thinking of building a Spec Boxster this is an absolutely fantastic deal!!

There have never been any oil leaks with this car while I've owned it. I haven't had the transmission out and looked directly at the RMS, but if you are going to do a SPBOX build, you'll be replacing the clutch and flywheel anyway and can look at the RMS at that time and replace it easily if you see any leakage.

In general -- if you are going to be changing the clutch -- the RMS is a 15 min and <$20 adder.
Now sometimes you get chronic RMS issues -- but I haven't seen any.

Has Spec Box allowed the IMSR yet?

If you are in Austin and buy this and convert to a Spec boxster -- let me know.

I've got a Boxster S that I was converting for the track - but may convert back to a driver.

I have the hard top, some of the suspension parts (GT3 control arms, GT3 sway, etc)
et al, but would need an interior/rag top.
Possible parts trade???

PM me.

Mike

At that price with a 65K motor it's worth it for spares.

Price reduced to $6995 - you know have no reason not to build that SPBOX you've been thinking about. Or like Consolidated pointed out, this is a complete spares kit...

UPDATE: car is sold...
