spyder top re-stitching

my spyder top stitching is disintegrating perhaps due to the tape adhesive on the underside of the seams. the top is otherwise in good shape, and functions well in spite of the thread problem. this seems to be a common problem. has anyone found a shop that can re-stitch these seams?

Looking for photo of inside/backside of Spyder bumper

As you may know, the Boxster spyder bumper is essentially the same as a standard 987.2 Boxster, with additional trim pieces.

Having done my dilligence, it's comprised of the following:

Bumper (not pictured)

Silver trim:

DRL trim:

a DRL:

retainer frame (note the single slat vs 2):

vs.

and this bewildering piece that I can't figure out where it's placed - as it doesn't seem like the standard 987.2 has this piece, or so it seems.

I'm trying to see how it all comes together from the backside, like the following photo. Does anyone by any chance have a photo that shows this?

Ongoing parts availability issues for 987 Spyder's

Perhaps this has already been posted or undertaken............

I noticed on the Ford GT Forum that members were concerned that quite a few parts were no longer available for 2005 and 2006 production models which are now are 20 years old.
Since these cars aren't typically driven very much it has taken 15-20 years to put enough mileage on them for parts to fail that normally would crap out in say five years.

It seems to me that 987 Spyder owners will soon face, if they already haven't, the same problem.

Before key parts go out of production, it might be prudent to formulate a list of replacement parts prone to breakage or failure. I have one part in particular I am concerned about.

My Spyder has been extremely reliable but the one part that is in the process of breaking are the clips on the trim pieces (don't know what they are called) that go around the left and right red trunk attachment points for the canvas roof. Five clips attach each one from the underside of the trunk lid. On my car one side has one broken clip, the other side two broken clips. When enough of clips break due to wind or vibration the loose trim pieces will likely cause damage to the exterior of the car or simply fly away. There does not seem to be any way to replace these clips and I am at a loss on how to improvise a repair.

What is the proper name for this unique to the Spyder part? Am I right that the whole assembly needs to be replaced? Any idea what they cost?

Any other unique Spyder parts to be vigilant about?
