I did my ED a few weeks ago. You can actually get an ICE train from the Frankfurt airport directly into Stuttgart HBF, which is super convenient. Bahn.com is where to book it. Just book from "Frankfurt am Main Flughafen Fernbahnhof" to "Stuttgart Hbf" and you'll be all set. I'd book the 2 hour ICE train with no switching. They run every 2 hours if I remember correctly. The trains have been delayed and stuff lately and mine was a bit delayed. But i just went up the escalator from the main train platform and found a German cafe to grab some drinks/food at while I waited. I would take the train again if i was doing it again.

 

The direct train like above mentions is the way to go. Very easy and convenient!

 

The easiest thing for me was to book flight 1 stop to Stuttgart. Jfk- Frankfurt 1 hr layover- 50 min flight to Stuttgart.

 

Anyone use the B&B hotel at Porsche? Museum and ED spot 5 min walk. Thinking about it - will save 30 min on morning of delivery. Then transfer to Emilu for 2 more nites. Porsche will offset 230 euro towards Emilu cost.
