2017 Spring Fling
Scheduled date: Saturday, May 20th
Rain date: Sunday, May 21st.
Of Pennsylvania's 219 covered bridges (more than any other state), Bucks County has 12 of them (more than any other county in Pennsylvania). I envision a small group of Porsches making a trip to Bucks County to visit several of these 19th century bridges, leaving from historic Washington Crossing, PA. Although preference is being given to Porsches for this event, there may be room for other marques as well if space is available; however, given the nature of the roads we'll be on, the goal is to keep the group small and manageable in size.
While details are still being finalized, we will likely assemble at 7:30 a.m. in Washington Crossing and depart at 8:00 a.m. We are planning to have breakfast at the conclusion of the drive.
Now that the date is set, if you want to be included, please confirm:
1) your attendance;
2) whether you'll have a passenger; and
3) if you intend to stay for breakfast so that we can determine our parking requirements at the restaurant.
To accommodate as many as of you as possible who have expressed an interest in participating, we might have need for another volunteer driver (with navigator) who is familiar with upper Bucks County and who would serve as a group leader or as a sweeper car if driving alone. Maps and route instructions will be available for your use.
So far, here are people who have expressed an interest:
1. VGM911 (Boxster).........................................Confirmed + Passenger / Breakfast [co-planner]
2. jsalah (911 4S Cabriolet)
3. spiderv6 (911 4S)..........................................Confirmed + Passenger / Breakfast [co-planner]
4. jsalah's friend (911 Turbo S)
5. o7silverturbo (911 Turbo)................................Confirmed + Passenger / Breakfast

7. RobbieRob (911 GT3)......................................Confirmed / Breakfast

12. spiderv6's friend (911)
13. dgi 07 (911 4S)..............................................Confirmed / Breakfast

Just a heads up to everyone, the weekend of the cover bridge run is also the Ocean City, Maryland Car Cruise and show which is pretty big. This might change my plans on the run since I might take my 30' Model A rat rod down.

RobbieRob:
Thanks for the heads-up on the car show in Maryland. I hope that you're also telling their organizers about our covered bridge driving event in Pennsylvania that day. In case they see a fall-off in attendance, they'll know why.

I'm expecting to make it at least for the ride portion.
I won't have 100% confirmation or know whether I will be at the breakfast until 3/21.
As of now, no passenger.
I'm asking my other friends to confirm, will advise.

Also, it's not just the number of cars that we have to consider, it's the number of people that we have to find room for at a restaurant, too.

Please pencil me in with passenger/breakfast.
"EDITORIAL COMMENT: Now we're up to thirteen 911s and 1 Boxster - I hope I don't lose you guys in the switchbacks and on the straightaways."
I think the GT crowd might have something to say on the above claim....
