Those looking for a good excuse to take off on a Monday and Tuesday in August may want to consider Blue Ridge Region's DE event at Lowe's (Charlotte, NC) Motor Speedway August 23-24. The July issue of Pano has a short blurb on it on page 46, that reads in part, "We will be using the high-banked tri-oval and the twisty infield course. This event will give you the best of both worlds -- a short road course and the pedal to the metal NASCAR track." Because this is a Mon/Tue event there should be plenty of space (clean air) in which to run your four 20-minute sessions each day. We're friendly, and we run on time. Due to the high costs of the Speedway, the fee is $300 for students and solos, and $225 for instructors (very few instructors will have more than one student). Sorry about the costs, but even at this rate we expect to lose money again this year (we make it up by having bake sales and car washes).
