Default 996 MkII Silvered Blinker Light Swap

An easy swap that removes the last remnant of orange from the front of the car is a silvered blinker bulb swap. I find it best to use a 5mm socket rather than the tool supplied by Porsche (mine is rounded out and no longer turns the light assembly catch). My silvered amber bulbs came from eBay, model X5-1156PY-CA from X5 Lighting ($9.98 for 2, shipped). Pop out the light assembly, twist the turn signal bulb holder, twist out the old orange bulb, twist in the new silvered bulb, twist in the bulb and holder and push the light assembly back in and lock in place. Done.
Pictures:
1. Old and new bulb.
2. Old look with orange bulb (rt. side)
3. New look silvered bulb (lft. side)
4. Blink on
5. Blink off

Hi Dave,
Been looking for silvered blinker bulb for front turn signals. Looked at Ebay but not found. Also was trying to see your pics but doesn't show up. Can you help me out here? Thanks a lot!
