Tips for moving AiM data to Dropbox?

So I've given up on this approach.
I'm moving from a PC to mac (with AiM stuff running under vmware).
At this point restored the 2 folders I backed up regularly via Crashplan and re-installed RS3 in the VM. It can see all the data now.
I think my next step will be to use the doc that's been floating around that shows how to relocate the AIM folders to Dropbox and replace them with a link. If I can get that working, I'll be in better shape. I don't really want to have to back up the vmware windows image.
